I have had good luck using my "weathered elk" scales on my hunters for several years. Since I don't make many bowie type knives I thought I would run a few carver pieces through the process and see if anyone is interested.

These antlers are bleached out with small surface cracks when I get them. I dye them just long enough so the hard boney area stays white then I put them in a vacuum chamber for 24 hours in a solution of liquid acrylic. All cracks and pithy centers fill with the solution. Occasionally there will be a surface crack that needs a little super glue.

I recommend further buffing on these with a soft buff and white compound at a speed no more than 1730 rpm. This material responds much better to slower buffing speeds.

The price for these is $43.00 each. This price includes shipping by USPS regular mail unless someone needs one faster. Price for Priority would be $45.65. This is to US addresses.

I accept checks, Postal money orders and Paypal. No fee for paypal customers. I prefer paypal on these if possible. If not that is ok too.

Thanks for looking.
