Marion a couple of corrections :

Talonite is the same composition as alloy 6BH (Stellite), except for the hot rolling and age hardening

Stellite 6K is Cobalt 6B with .5% more carbon. Cobalt 6BH is Cobalt 6B hot rolled and age hardened, this is what Carbide Processors calls Talonite. To be complete, Boye's Dendritic Cobalt is cast Cobalt 6B.

[this I think is something I miswrote]

Further, the tensile strength is 118 000 psi, compare this to Mission's A2 which is 310 000.

The tensile strength is 190 000 psi, 118 is the yeild strength.

Cliff,

Thank you, corrections made, additional information added.

The description you quoted was quited from the Carbide Processors site.

Marion, Carbide Processors recently rewrote their webpages and the link to the Talonite section no longer works. I had it linked to as well. Does anyone know where it has moved to?

Cliff, a look at the carbide processors web site showed multiple pages (products, articles, etc.) with No content and a 'this page is being edited' tag. I did an 'alltheweb' search for talonite and only came up with the usual list of web pages by BF members, besides the northwest research institute (carbide processors) site.
