I have an older Webster Wood Survival knife with about a 7 inch by 1 1/4 by 1/4 thick blade, with awesome rip-saw teeth. Black Oxide finish. Little over 12 inches overall.
Guard has notches for breaking fence and wire.
Webster's hollow handle knives were among the best, very strong and very well made.
Comes with nylon web sheath and removable pouch.
Knife is in excellent condition.

Here is a copy of the Email I got from Mr. Wood regarding this knife:

Matt-
You have a real collectors item there. That is one of the first batches of
survivals I made back in the late 70's. The blade is welded to the guard
and the handle is welded to the back side of the guard. I still make some
of the latest model with the bic lighter in the handle but not many.
At present I have two left. They now sell for 450-
rising cost of living . I didn't make many of the seven inch with the inch
and a quarter steel. There are two rarer than that and those are the two I
built with the removable teeth. They are out there in the world somewhere.
Your knife must have been sold at a show or maybe the Guild show in Kansas
city. The sheath was made by a guy in Missourri that I used to purchase
from. He owned a shoe manufacturing co. and He dissappeared and no one has heard from him. The cap was made out of a large bolt and the sling swivel
stud was added. You could get a machinist to make you a new cap. I think
that your knife is stainless and only the cap is steel. At least that is
what it looks like in the picture. You can tell by putting a little cold
blue on it. If it blues it is O-1 and if not stainless. If it is a
parkerized steel one it is rarer yet as I only made three or four of them on
special order. Webster Wood

Matt, email me a pic and I will post it up mate. I would be interested in seeing it....

Gundy,
Hello friend, I hope things are well.

I am attempting to get in touch with the gentleman (Not2Sharp) that owns the picture. I don't want to publicly have it posted until I get his blessing. It is on his trade/selling page though in the "gone" section. Once I get permission I will send it to you to post. Thank you again.

I'd take his word for it as he tends to keep good records on that sorta thing, but my personal recollection is that he didn't get heavy into the survivals until the early 80's. But he may be right because he didn't do a lot with the removable teeth. It was a good idea, but he had some folks report a little play in the early ones after a lot of use and they were apparently a major pain in the butt to make. He didn't like doing them and tended to find it to be easier just to make the standard and could churn them out faster in the basement.
He's still making the knives but at a much more leisurely pace and he's pretty much focusing on stuff he wants to do now, making an occasional batch of hunters or skinners for pocket money (since they sell fast and are easy to make) but mostly doing art pieces now. So you definitely have a rare piece there! Well worthy of praise. One of these days I have a feeling it's going to fall on me to decipher his 'code' to validate the maker dates on those things!

(this is Scott Webster Wood btw)
