Weekend blade

Somebody decided to walk off with my beloved Rat 1, leaving me with my G10 Endura as my only folder.
The dilemma is that I need a work knife. Knife duties include cutting cardboard, thick hoses, thick plastic bands on lumber bundles, getting soaked with water and grease from my pressure washing job, and the occasional shingle every now and then.
My plans were to use my awesome looking G10 Endura, and getting a Military as a nice weekend showoff blade.
What are your thoughts and recommendations on this matter?

Both are tough knives and will get the job done. Given your job description I would get a serrated atlantic salt especially for the thick hoses and lumber straps. I do the same tasks at work in similar conditions. My work knife of choice is an SE Tasman salt along with whatever plain edge knife I decide to carry that day.

I carry the Military myself. For your job, I agree with twid that an H1 knife might save you some trouble. But if you're up for cleaning the Endura at the end of each shift, it's a great knife, Spyderco's flagship in some ways.

The H1 suggestions are good, but have you ever given a thought to getting one of the forest green G10 Delicas as the little brother to your G10 Endura? They have been recently discontinued but you can still find them if you try. I think it might be cool to have a 'matched set' as it were, and the Delica is a nice little EDC knife for most tasks.

To be honest with you a plain blade has been doing perfectly fine for me. Also, I prefer to carry just one blade since I have all kinfd of tools and crap in my pockets.

I really think the Endura will be fine too. I used my Rat 1 for 3 years without getting rust on it. I guess the muscle memory of wiping a blade before going in my pocket really helped.

The blade on the Delica is just a little too small for my liking, and at that price point I'd rather fork out the other $20 for a Military.

Thank you everybody for your responses. Its really making me realize that the Endura might be my carry choice, and Military as my weekend/showoff blade. I'm really not looking to get another knife other than the Military. If I was going to get another blade, I'd just go for the Rat 1.
I guess my question should have been.
Which knife is worth more, or better looking to keep as a weekender?

The Military is worth more, but it seems like a shame not to use it for work. But then, I've never really grasped the concept of a weekend/showoff blade.

Why not just get another Rat 1 since they're only about $25.IMHO,the G-10 Endura you presently have should be your weekend knife. Not sure whether or not you have stripped and polished the clip but I would highly suggest it.

Yea, I know a workhorse should be put to work, but I've always carried a nice folder on the weekends. I don't like to pull a nasty dirty work knife when my wife asks me to cut her samich in half.
If your going for a beater, why not one on the Persistence, Tenacious, Resilience line?
Owned a Tenacious, but got rid of it like a bad cold. HATED the sharpness retention. My Rat 1 would get sharpened once a week to the Tenacious' daily.

I think I'm just going that route instead. My Rat 1 was awesome in every way. Cheap, strong, great sharpness retention, and fast deployment.
I WILL own a Military some day though. Those knives are just soooo kewl lookin.
