What brand epoxy did you use on the khukuri handle in your photo?

The coloring compound for AcraGlas does not have that many variations. Black and brown are the most commonly used. But I am more familiar with AcraGlas so I think I will use it. The Dying compound is also available from Brownell's.

After holding both the AK and the Chitlange .... I found the Chitlange's handle and weight fits me better. It is quite an impressive blade. It appears to be a slim blade, but the spine is actually thicker than that of the 15" AK. Wow.

Auntie has a 22" Gelbu special still available .... hmmm ....

I used Devcon brand epoxy on this handle. Easy to mess with. I also have marine grade stuff I get from Fibreglast but i dont mess with that stuff except for surfboards, mold making or bigger projects. I did use it once to mold a handle for a Camillus Kukri blank. Really stinks up the house! They also have the pigments. If you search dye you wont find much. It is actually a pigment. I will look into Acra glass! I have a Springfield 03A3 mouse gun:D That needs a stock repair! Chitlangi would feel lighter because it is not heavy chopper. Has deeper fullers to lighten it up. Faster blade. AK feels heavier to me but that is what you need for chopping. Gelbu feels much like Chitlangi. You should get one and try it out. They are beautiful!

Acraglas Gel is generally the ticket for stock repair. If it's like a crack the regular might work being thinner.

For bedding or putting in pins etc, the Gel is the winner.

OK i checked this stuff out. Thanks Bawanna! It is a fiber/and or metalic reinforced epoxy primarily developed for shock resistance (bedding material). Makes sense. Do you know if it would be able to take a polish? Being designed "soft" for shock absorbance and elastic and such would lead me to believe it would be formulated softer than normal 1:1 off the shelf epoxy. Wonder how it would polish out on a Khukri handle? If it polishes out how you want it sounds like it would be great stuff to use. As far as my 03A3 thats what im gonna try but guess thats another forum....he he...Whats that to do with Khkuris?

It can be fiber or metallic reinforced but it does not come with either in the standard package. For bedding the fiber/metallic would be a plus.
I've never added either for my purposes. I use it mostly like epoxy for grip or stock inlays, or repairs.

The standard package comes with brown and black pigment and it does dry shiny. If you sand it afterwards the shine sands right off but it does polish up if you have plenty of pigment, other wise it seems to stay rather flat. Course I've not put much effort into polishing in my task so more effort might result in better results too.
