Weekend in the Piney woods

Well my 7 year old and myself went out for a weekend trip out to the family lease in the great Piney woods of east texas. Here are a few Pics.

Baby boy wanted to try and start a fire with his Doans bar so we harvested some fatwood and got to work...

I would have my rc3 most of the time but this time i decided to give the rc4 some stick time for harvesting the fatwood(it was looking to clean compared to the rest)

The fatwood caught on an area other than where the mag. shavings were which goes to show you don't need a mag. bar a fire steel with do just fine with out it...

A couple of logs later we have a nice fire for sat. night

Here is Colin using his izula to cut up some summer sausage for a snack...

We went out on a four wheeler ride and loggers had knocked a tree over our trail and we had to hack trough it to get the wheelers through...short story long there was a hornets nest in the downed tree and i did not much feel like taking anymore pics...lol

yeah they suck...i put away the camera but we still finished out the day and had a good time...I will be heading back out middle of next week
 
that's what I call a Bee sting ...Or the Wife thought you'd been gone long enough :D & Socked you one right in the kisser ;) Tell her I said hi

i will tell her...her and my younger son actually drove up yesterday for four wheeler riding.....but i was informed if i posted any pics of her i would be sleeping on the couch...lol...everytime she looked at my lip she would bust out laughing....

:D She can snore in a chair beside me around the camp fire yet you cant post a pic LOL ;) Dont tell her I said that :eek:
 
are you kidding...she used to claim she don't snore...so i recorded her with the video cam and showed it to the family....I don't think i got any for a month..lol...she don't like being in any pics... there are pics around the living room of our home of everyone but her....she keeps it that way....speaking of which....I noticed my wife isn't the only wife missing from the eseefest group pic...:Dwhat is it with wives ducking pictures
 
Drew that is one nasty bite, hornets are the worst! I love the bit about filming your wife snoring then showing it to the fam!
