• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Weekend photos from Dave Ellis

As a collector of Don's work, and a student who has learned great things from him.....I prefer the "fully" finished pieces to the knives showing a "duality"....but recognize that tastes are quite different, and there are many who find this appealing.

I certainly understand your preference. In fact I tend to agree. I am mostly stunned at how controlled and deliberate his "unfinished" look is. It doesn't have that quality so much of "found art" that some others who go for this style will rest upon.

Look at this piece he collaborated on with Jim Kelso, these are two differing sides of one knife....the restraint, and end result that he was searching for are clear as a bell, as is that duality..... This piece was completed a long time ago.
