I've been meaning to do this for a while. It turned out to be ridiculously easy and cheap to do. I built a spot to take the knife pics. Its a 4x2 table with a frame for the sheet and a frame for the lights to attach to. The lights are $4 each from Home Depot. The whole project cost ~30 bucks.

I really should have done it a long time ago.:tu::tu:

I like your light table, what are you planning for a table cloth?
I also like your two layer wooden handle, very elegant.

Best Regards

Here is another trick to try with that setup. Get a 2X4' sheet of the jeweled plastic that is used on ceiling lights (in the lighting dept. with the fluorescent lights) for about 2-4$ put a 1" strip of wood on each side of the base board of the setup. Bend the panel in an arc, with the jeweling outside, and stick the ends against the 1" strips. It makes a curved dome light diffuser that leaves no shadows at all. Pop it out and it stores flat against the wall. You can carefully cut a 3" hole in the center of another panel for taking direct overhead shots ( use a slow turning hole saw). Shorten the panels to the necessary length to make the curve you need for your setup ( score deeply, snap clean, sand edges and corners rounded). Placing an additional panel at the back will really make the lighting even.

Nice job Andy, a light box has been on my to do list for awhile, I have just been snapping pics outside, as long as its not too sunny.
