I had my blade with me but didn't get pic like a dope. But anyway just wanted to share a few pics that I took this weekend up at the cabin and to and from.

Well, this is my home away from home:D

This pic is of the hills in my back door so to speak. The tree covered base of the hill is about a mile away.

This is Mt. Sanford 16237 ft. in the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve

This is a pic of Mt Sanford on the left and Mt Drum 12010 ft to the right. But what got my attention was the cloud formation above Drum. I think it was a UFO watching me:eek:

And finally this is Matanuska Glacier which is a valley glacier. At 27 miles (39 km) long by four miles (6.4 km) wide, it is the largest glacier accessible by car in the United States.

It was a beautiful weekend for sure!!!

Wow, it must be nice to get out and see that beautiful wilderness. Instead, I got to spend my weekend in NYC, I still had a good time but glad to see you are doing well! I'll have to stop up there sometime and see the great nature up there in Alaska one say. =)

Wow you found a place with no rain!!

I am so tired of rain on the peninsula this summer.

Awesome pics Russ, you sure are lucky to live in the last frontier with such beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing,

Great pics Russ. One of these days I've got to make it to Alaska:thumbup:

Great shots RussMo! Looks like beautiful country. I can't wait to get out there sometime.

Russ, great looking cabin. How far off the Copper River are you? The cloud over Mt Drum looks like a lenticular cloud. I'll look you up next time I'm up.

Hey Ken, actually the cabin is just south of TOK. It's 292 miles from the house to it, you know just a little drive up here:D.

Thanks for the comments guys, and most know if anyone makes it up LOOK ME UP, door is open!!!

OMG, Russ! Looks like my dream of the little log cabin in the woods! :D Beautiful pics and terrain. Thanks for sharing!

Someday I'll be moving up there..... Someday

Looks like a nice relaxing weekend for you!

Beautiful, Russ! :) Which knife did you take with you? :D

Greg, I took one of my WAKI's, Mr. MOJO, Groove Master and old faithful GW:D. Banged up the last 3" of the waki on some rocks but cleaned it up enough to keep on trucking. If you ever need a fire starter just use the WAKI, makes for some good sparking!!!

Hey Russ, how did the glassing go?

Michael

Michael,

It was so blooming hot the only things moving were the squirrels. Saw Owls, Hawks, Porcupine and only 2-Moose. Just to HOT. It was 80 yesterday up there and believe it or not, the fireweed had gone to cotton but it was still that hot and the leave have just started turning.
