Here are where I am today. Have 2 large knives to get to 60 grit on the bevels. I'll use that to warm up with next grinding day. Then it will be ready for 120 on those in the box.
The customer of the combat knife wants it sort of 2 sided and I ain't a double grinding kind of guy but I am a grind for function kind of guy!!!!
So..... I read what was the main purpose to a false edge on a combat knife as well as a double edge. Main feature desired from this grind is having the tip cross section be as slim as possible while maintaining the larger knife function.
So I just went for function first. Here is what I have. A knife where the actual tip is sort of on the top portion as it just felt much more stabby as the design if the knife is meant for belly. The belly is still a tad thicker for heavy use and the top is thin as he'll for sticking needs.
That's what I have and looks might could be better but it will function as desired.
This is tough on a flat grinder. My hats off to the sweeping grinding guys for sure!!! I tried to still have some flair on the grind
