Is carbon fiber stiffer? Why should I pay more? What advantage does it have functionaly? Thanks.
 
I wouldn't say the carbon fiber has any advantage functionally. It is more aesthetically pleasing though. The carbon fiber is slick and the G-10 is textured. The knife has dual nested liners, so both versions are plenty strong. If I were going to get one to use I would go with the G-10.

Total agreement. CF just gets to "slick" for me in using situations.
 
If you get one let us know how you like it. I think it is a very under rated folder that doesn't get near enough attention.
 
The Spyderco version was a real steal and a fantastic everyday user. I was saddened to see it dropped from their line. I was equally happy to see it returned to production knife status with great materials and workmanship by the originator.
 
Based on excellent reviews here, I bought one. A great folder. Strong, sharp, and good point penetration potential -- but the loop on top makes it look more PC than Military.
 
I like the design of this knife so much that I have two! One for use and one for "just in case". Very strong knife and very sharp. My only issue is the bright pocket clip. Not only is it bright and catches everyone's eye it also has a tab at the end that sticks out at least 3/8" that catches on everything. I've also managed to scrape the SH!T out of the side of my truck with it while getting in. The clip needs to be more like the Benchmades. Other than that it's a great knife.

For waht its worth Benchmade, Spyderco, and Emerson clips fit the Wegner if you wanted to switch out. I put an Emerson skull clip on one of mine.
 
I have one in the rotation lineup to be tested and reviewed in the near future for our website.

I like the knife, it's a sleeper.
