had a kind of up and down day today. some good news followed by some really bad news. i am building a kmg type grinder, and all that i am missing is the 1.5 x 1.5 main solid shaft. i had to order it from an online metal place because all i could get locally was a 12 foot bar, and all i need is 20 inches. to make a long story less long, they screwed up and sent me 3 sections if 304 stainless angle iron that is 1.5inch x .25inch thick x4 feet long. they are going to send out my piece, and dont want to hassle shipping the wrong stuff back. my mind thought immediately of if i could make knife blades out of it.....any thoughts???
 
You can never have too much steel in your shop.:D Especially stuff your local hardware store does not carry like 1/4" stainless angle.
 
dang, oh well. it sounded like a cool idea..now i have to figure out what to build with it..
 
I have some pieces of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" square stock. It is solid. It takes a little bit of sanding to get it to slide in a KMG put it is what I use. Email me if you want a piece.
