Funny looking thing, handforged little hook shaped blade, and a maple handle that's best suited to a drawstroke like using a crooked knife. I ain't got no use for it, dang thing don't look suited for much more than trimming goat hooves or some such foolishness. Anybody got any ideas?

I know what it is, um, it's a, aaahh, It's a.............

Wait, I know, it's a tool for circumcision.................. yes...... no ?

LOL! ;)

If I,m seeing it right it is the outside of the curve that is sharpened ? If so then it seems like cutting long strips of leather or putting a straight edge on leather . Something where you use the center of the curve to glide/cut through the leather ? That tang doesn,t seem to be seated in all the way so I don,t know how much pressure could be applied .

Uh no Kevin, it's a hook blade, so it's sharpened on the inside curve. And, you can't judge the tang you can't see by the tang you can, I set it in pretty deep. :D

Okay, time's up. Read through this fellow's remarks from another thread, then look at that funny little knife again;

I would love to have a knife like the bottom one with a very small blade.

One of the chores I have to do is cut my goats hooves.

Goats have the horney(pardon the many layered pun) outer hoof and the frog which is the rubbery middle.

Peroidically you have to cut the outer layer and frog even so they walk square on their hooves or their hooves can become misshapen.

I use a set of hoof trimmers and a knife, but you always have to be careful of the goat moving and impaling yourself with a manure caked knife or clipper tip.

With a blade shaped like the bottom one you could cut squarely across the bottom of the hoof, still have a point you could scrape manure out with, yet the hawkbill design would prevent you from impaling youself

Every now and then I'll read what folks say, and go "oh really?". ;)

It was just an observation . We sometimes use knives like that as cable rippers . You should see the one made by buck . It actually has a couple of serrations on the inside of the blade . Beyond that it looks like it could rip open just about what you want .

I guess every job has it's proper tool,.................. though I still think that my idea would better fit that tool's purpose (or at least work just as well in doing) ;)

Ouch again............. LOL! :)

You keep it up Jimmy, and I'll forge up an evil, uh, "cigar trimmer", stamp "Dr. Kutcherkokkoff" on the scabbard, and send it your way. Now, ya dadburn knucklehead, assume the position of the front leaning rest, and start pushin' down the planet until I get tired. Sorry...flashbacks...you know how it is. ;)

Looks perfect for goat hooves. I have a few I could run a field test on it with

Send me your address, that sounds way better than what Jimmy wants to do with it. :rolleyes: :D
