I went on a hike today and finished up on a beach again looking under rocks with my son and found some unusual stuff that I thought you might like to see !!!

A Sea Cucumber I think ?

A Chiton !

Pit...after years of reading fieldguides and watching nature shows,,,I cna say that I haven't seen fish like that outside of a science fiction film...great pics as always.

I often wondered that myself, and now after going to Vancouver, B.C. Saturday and taking this pic I would have to say, YES! THERE IS SOMETHING WEIRD GOING ON THERE!

We actually found some small eels as well and my dog tried to eat them !!!

The second one down looks like a woody chiton, Mopalia lignosa, but I can't really make positive IDs of the organisms from these photos.
