Welcome home to these two great knives

The Schrade Walden 895 is a great pattern -- the sheepsfoot is up higher because you access it from the front (actually, with the low set muskrat clip type main blade, it's probably not up any higher than any other stockman, perhaps less, and could be dropped down a bit more still). Being able to right hand open all the blades - and open both main and sheepsfoot blades directly from the front - is a sweet feature.

This Schrade Walden also illustrates the difficulty with having perfectly matching jigged bone scales -- actually, seen from the edges, the bone matches very well - but by buffing the front a little more at the factory (the back has obviously sharper jigging), they changed the apparent color of the scales significantly.

Thank you for that Dwight...and thank you for the behind scenes help on backgrounds etc.
That jigging is simply a wonderfull thing to get lost in...I was having a real close look at it yesterday...very intricate detail in the jig work...I wonder if there is a name for this actual style of work?
Its interesting what you say about the buff work...if this is the case...Im sure that Im going to change the colour signifigantly because I am constantly handling the knife.
The Schrade gets carried with my awesome GEC today :D

I love looking at these. Thanks for showing them to us Duncan. The bone on all three alone is more than worth the price of admission. ;).

More nice additions to your collection, Duncan.
(did I not tell you I was impressed with your taste)

Congrats on those!
