Sorry to have been gone so long. (Of course you missed me, I broke the sights on your rifle)

Had a major reversal of fortune, unfortunately in the wrong direction. My health has gotten worse, my wife's health has gone downhill, my job was downsized, my dog developed back problems and I cracked the screen on my laptop. If I knew how to rhyme better, I'd have the makings of a country song.

On to better things. I've worked out a way to customize the plastic grips on my Mora. I narrowed them to fit my hand better then deeply "stippled" them with a soldering iron. Has anybody else done this? I'll post pics when I get the chance.

I've also worked out a rather nice belt kit based around the Maxpedition H-2. Again, I'll post pics later.

Got a MSR Miniworks for my birthday. Good piece of gear.

Also got a couple pairs of Propper Tactical trousers. Also good gear. The only negative is that, until you break them in a bit, they have the same problem as holding the prom at the Motel 6: No ballroom.

Anyway, good to be back. I've got about six months of forum reading to catch up on.

Hey task force k,

I was away myself, for awhile and when I came back, I noticed there was a lot of people who were no longer around. To be honest, I forgot about you, but having my memory jogged, I also can tell you honestly that I always enjoyed your posts and if I had thought about it, I would have missed you. Welcome back, though I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. Remember, the one constant is life is change. Let's hope your change is for the better.

LMBO.
Welcome back! Sorry to hear of your troubles, but know this: you aren't alone. There's trouble enough going around for almost everyone to get a big slice, myself included. But I'm not complaining, because my troubles are nothing compared to some guys - like you - around this BBS. But you're back, and that says a lot in your favor. Nuf said.

I'm surprised this didn't get more responses. Really, get past my whining and it was gear, gear, gear...Mora and Maxpedition and Propper (Oh, My)...plus the promise of pictures. I'm disappointed.

Welcome back! Hope things turn around for you soon.

To catch you up...

Busse is still battling Moras for the top spot.
Nessmuks are still fovored over Kepharts.
We're still jealous of Pitdog.
And Bear Grylls has earned three free stays on his Hilton Honors Card.

Welcome back from a relatively new member. I look forward to learning what you have to share with us.
I hope that your and your wife's health and fortunes are soon all that you hope them to be.

Welcome back.

I have been fortunate to be in fairly good health but my wife has been fighting with a chronic pain condition now for almost 10 years and is really wearing her down. She is going for more tests tomorrow. It is really been brutal for her and it is especially hard to be able to really do nothing except give moral support.

Anyway, hope things improve for you and your wife.

Welcome back! I, too, was gone for a time. I've been here constantly since February, although I've been unable to post as much in the last few weeks because of working 18-20 a day 7 days a week building a new business.

I hope everything gets better.

Happy belated birthday.

I just got a pair of Propper tactical trouser as well (dark grey), I haven't used it out yet, but they're great in the house. :D

Funny stuff about Bear. My Kids call him "Drama Queen". Still and all, he found a way to make a good living doing stuff more than a few of us would pay to do.

Welcome to the forum. You've probably already noted that nobody here will treat you as a "newbie". Thanks for the positive thoughts.

My health issues are nothing compared to my wife's, diagnosed over the past three years as PTSD, epilepsy, and Tourette's. The good news is that if they can't come up with an actual diagnosis soon, they have to name whatever I have after me...so I've got that going for me.

On a humorous note: my health took a little downturn yesterday when I accidentally tried to stick a pair of tin snips into my forehead. I'd post pics of the wound but I can't post pics of myself...it'll keep me out of Delta Force ya' know. Seriously, I don't want people to see pics of me and sue me for mental trauma. Luckily any wound to my face is the one place no damage can be done that God didn't do to me at birth.

KR1, I know exactly where you're coming from. Please, seriously, sincerely let me know if you'd like to discuss this offline.

18-20 hours? Sweet mother of all that is good and holy. I wish you luck (and rest).

Ha ha ha. I'd be happy if my laptop screen got uncracked. On the plus side, I've been giving my dog injections that have helped significantly.

As soon as I can remeber how to, I'll post the pics.
