Well, looks like Purna is off to a good start. It didn't even take five minutes for his first DOTD to sell.

WOW that is a nice Dui chirra, nice catch Spaceghost I definitely would have snagged that one if I had not been at BJJ. And welcome Purna!!!

Spaceghost >_< taking seconds...grats anyway and all that...not annoyed at myself for not checking forum at all...

Welcome purna :)

Oh Yes I second that! I was ready to hit the ems button Grats Spaceghost! Welcome to HI Purna! Beautiful blade in the old style. Nice weight and awesome look! Congrats Aunti and HI:thumbup:

Thanks all, got the DD and will be sure to post a review of this fine looking blade once it arrives :) Very fine work!

lawl, Fanta ...i love that stuff and can't even get it where i live. Especially the pinapple.

Awesome blade, really dig the looks. Can someone explain a noob the black portion on the blade, seen on other products as well, is that due to the "villager fit and finish", does sanding take that off? I'm not even sure I use the correct terms, therefore I beg for some patience.

Wow!!! That is one gorgeous Dui Chirra. Excellent work and I cant wait to see more of his work. That's is off the chart cool.

Wow! A dui chirra blade with a curved ASTK handle! I hope that becomes a regular item.

ASTK. Thats what came to my mind. Man HI sure has a great team of Kamis now. Just when you think it cant get any better it does. I use the Reti scale of success. The more Retis that come up for sale the more Khuks they must be making and we all know the quality is there:thumbup:

If you're referring to what looks a little bit black on the edge, I think that's the light. If you mean the dark stuff around the bolster and in the fuller, that's Laha, sometimes known as Himalayan Tree Gum. It's used as a glue to keep the bolster on, and some of it tends to run into the fuller. I wouldn't try and remove it, as the glue does keep the bolster on.

I was referring to the black color on the edge indeed, something I've seen on other knives, but dully noted on both accounts. Thanks!

[L.E.] More readable.

My guess is that the edge is perfect. Villager can mean nothing more than the blade having a satin finish. My guess is that it's 100%.
