I've noticed in the last few days some new names showing up at the bottom of the page. Some lurking, some posting, others just visiting and maybe testing the waters.

In any case, I'd like to welcome all of you on behalf of Gus and myself and the many fine members we are fortunate to have in this great forum.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Please also feel free to post or introduce yourself or just lurk as suits you. You have found the cyber equivalent of a step back in time to a more genteel period when folks actually took the time to listen to and enjoy what one another had to say and share. ("Folksy", if you will. ;) )

Welcome!

Yea Man, we be Folksy!. I recon we ain't never going to live that one down!.:p ;) :D

Welcome one & all!

sunnyd, imho, no need to live it down, my friend. Let's live it up. :)

Welcome aboard new folks!

Love it here!! I visited the site a few years back and never knew it was this much fun!! Glad I gave it another shot! I need to dig up some of my old collection and start posting..I do have a couple of other thread ideas to start ..but will keep you all in suspense for a few more days anyway ;) Thanks for letting me post..

Gosh, Blues..... I feel so welcome and folksy now that I am ready to cry at the mere thought of being made to feel such a part of this forum family. :o I hope I don't embarassment anyone with my unknowledgeable posts as I know absolutely nothing about slippies, etc.

Thanks, Blues, for your nice welcome!!!!!

Thank you Sir. :)

I've never realy posted on BF much, always seemed too big and im-personal so I stayed with a couple down home places on KF... An aqantance just got his own forum in the makers area, so i figure if I'm gonna be posting there, I might as well look around.

Lo' an' behold there's a traditional folksy place like I;m used too.....

I think I'll stick aroud a bit. I even see som familiar "faces" from other places...

Gary

If you're looking for a down home and personal place here on BF, then you've definitely found it. This is the friendliest forum I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of, like a big family.

Ice Tigre, I was just talking with someone about Fairbanks today. Another lady listening had also been stationed up there, but in the AF over at North Pole. I was Army at Wainwright during the 6th ID days. Welcome, and to everyone else who's joining us too.

Btw, if you pop into Down Under Guns tell either Doug Albright, or Janet, that Allen (that's how they knew me) Trisler says, Hi! I used to work part time there back in the early 90s.

I miss that place, the shop and Fairbanks.

Really appreciate the welcome getlemen. You folks are some of the best salesmen I've ever met up against. Since lurking, I am delighted with the following purchases:

The bug out Bag
Spec ops Rat Pack
FB Griptilian
Plenty 'o paracord
Fenix P2
Mini grip
Various straight edge spyderco's incl. the temperance
Ritter's tiny amk kit
AMK .5 first aid
Petzel Tikka xp headlamp.
Photon III's etc.
I'm even resisting the call of a mosquitoless hammock though I haven't slept in one in over 20 years.

AND the NWA knife, though the O-1 steel is helping curb my desire.

I've started literally Every DC my SE Delica in my suit pants- seems to be the toughest and lightest I can find.

thanks especially to all LEO's and vetrans for your service and thanks to you all for the counsel and fun.

Paul in Memphis, where we've really been cleaning up the crooked politicians.

You caught me lurking, Blues! I've traditionally collected hunters and tacs, but lately I've been surching for something more practical and traditional to carry in my pocket.

I live in NY, so there is a pretty good slipjoint tradition here. Actually, I live in a town that used to have one of the major Robeson factories. I don't imagine I could get anyone to part with one of those, though.

Least ways, I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on some nice slippys.

thanks for the invite.;)

seems like abunch of good folks in here.

hope I can contribute to the forums.

take care,all.

and Happy Memorial Day!

God bless our troops!

Welcome Clown714! Glad you're here, now grab a cold one and a comfortable chair and join us for a spell..:)

I have been spending more time over here lately and have grown to like it. Folksy is cozy! And, I have learned a lot. Look forward to furthering my education.
Before becoming interested in customs a few years back, the knives I enjoyed then, and continue to like the most now (production or custom) are the traditional fixed baldes and slipjoint folders. It all goes back to the basics, like all things in life!

Thanks folks.....it's nice to read the real deal from the people who buy and use knives. With all the sales hype out there, this site gives me the info to deal pretty well (at least with knives) with the corporate greed that's permeating everything these days. Caring about more than money makes it happen...apathy sucks. Keep the faith!!!

Hello folks.

I have been lurking around for a while and I have to say that Im very pleased and impressed with the forums. The honest opinions of knife customers have helped me a lot in choosing the best knife for me AND given me a lot of good information. People seem to be very nice here and talking about the same interest is always fun!

Let us enjoy the summer, even outside a bit ok? :)

Hello, just checking in. I have been looking for awhile. Do any of the members on here collect Al Mar Knives??

Welcome all.

Inland, I think you'd be better served checking in the general discussion forums for Al Mar knives though I'm sure that some of the folks who hang out here have an interest as well.

Again, on behalf of Gus, myself and the great members of this subforum, welcome.
