Welcome To New Members, Lurkers, Visitors

all right you caught me :) i normaly spend all my time in the makers section, but a few weeks ago i messed up bad, i normaly make fixed blades but i got it in my head to try and make a folder i made one barlow and now im hooked :( ohh wellllllll i guess there are worse things to be addicted to

Caught me lurking too! I've developed an interest in the more traditional patterns, particularly those by USA makers such as Case & Queen, and have found this forum a superb source of information (not to mention envy) - so thanks to all who contribute.:)

Being based in the UK it's not easy to find products from these makers, but the few that I have in my very modest collection have inspired me to look for more.

Look forward to contributing to debates when I can.

Lurking around and reading the threads and posts in this forum, I find myself constantly reminded of a time when things were a lot less complicated and a lot more enjoyable. Thank you for fond memories this forum never ceases to generate!

Regards,

Welcome 3g.

The folks here are as close as I have seen to real knife people when they are around face to face.

Busted! Long time lurker, first time poster. Live in Maine, expect to have lots of time to post as our half-year winter sets in. Have loved pocket knives all my life. Gravitate to traditional patterns with natural handles. I'm an accumulator and collect without any particular focus as long as it meets with those criteria. I like old knives but it is near impossible to find them in this part of the world. I generally scratch my itch with Queen, S&M, and Bluegrass Winchesters found through a relativly few internet sellers. Will be spending more time here and may even try to figure out how to put up a picture or two one of these days!

Hello Folks
Been lurking for awhile now and figured I may as well get my feet wet.
I'm a Traditional knife person also. I like the forums though, alot of info.
Best Mike

Guys, back when I joined bladeforums I just collected cccs that had no value at all, hell I couldnt even sharpen I bought a crappy pull through at lowes and thought it was God in sharpening form. Well I came to this little subforum and found the anwser to what I looked for in a forum. While I was attending a little pistol shooting class I looked at their slippies they had at the store and I thought they were nice, but I thought they had no real point. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!! Every since I got my first slippy ( a ulster boy scout knife) from a friend who I love dearly, I became even more active in the slippy community! thanks guys I love you all like brothers!

Hey Blues, I noticed you closed my thread below. I was just wondering why? Is it because of the link to eknifeworks (like the rule about eBay) or because the sale was up. Just curious as I didn’t mean to break any rules and apologize if I have; I just wanted to share my purchase.

Thanks

It came across as a bit of an ad, sh00ter, and we received some complaints from regulars in this forum. It didn't help that there was no discussion of the items either.

Feel free to post your reviews with or without pictures when you receive the knives. That would be more appropriate to the forum.

Also, this thread is not the appropriate place to have this discussion. Gus and I can be contacted via pm or email for any forum specific questions.

Other than that, welcome to the forum!

Sorry about that, just wanted to share the purchase; I'll post a review when I get them. Thanks for the welcome!

I am just getting started in knife collecting, and this forum seems a fine place to set a while. One question: Suppose one were to place ones first post in what one expects is the wrong discussion? What would one do to remedy this?
