Hey guys, I've had a lot of fun on the forums over the past few months. I love knife collecting and I love reviewing and trading with you guys, but real life hit this week and I don't think I'll be around much anymore. My girlfriend told me she's pregnant so it looks like my knife collecting is going out the window for a few years at least. I just wanted to say thank you for the EXTENSIVE wealth of knowledge you've all shared with me and how much support and generosity everyone here gives to newbies in the knife world. I'll probably post once in a while but my money is all going to be shuffled elsewhere and I'll probably end up selling what I've got in my (small) collection. Had an awesome time with you guys and in the words of gavkoo, don't cut yourself :) Peace

When you are up late feeding or rocking the baby you might want to take a moment for yourself and read the forums for a little R&R. Lord knows I surfed the web at 3 am many times...

I have kids and they are worth the time and effort. The greatest thing in the world is a spontaneous hug and kiss from your child. I would trade everything I posess for my kids so backing off on knives wont be a big deal when you hold your baby for the first time.
That being said, I echo what the others have said, stick around and keep up with the trends and come over for entertainment and info.
Congrats man, hug your woman. the best times are yet to come. Remember, its love that makes everything worth it.

I recently spurged bigtime and now have reached a point where the funds have run out for collecting **sigh**.

Soon you can get the kids out in the bush and play with all your toys..

Good luck with everything

Congrats and best of luck to you and your new family! Don't be a total stranger! :D

Congrats man! I've got a little 2 1/2 year old girl and it's the best thing that ever happened to me (that sounds cliche, but it doesn't feel cliche to say it when you have a kid because it is really true). Even if you can't keep up with buying knives try to stop in once in awhile.

Congratulations :) Sometimes good things come unplanned and unexpected (I speak as a father of three grown-up daughters, with my first grandchild due soon) :)

PS And just to add, as they probably say in Folsom, don't worry, it gets easier after the first 20 years! :D

Congrats! Kids are great.
+1
good luck. Enjoy every moment. The biggest problem with kids is that they grow too fast.
I have son. This is the best, what is ever happened with me. He is 23 now.

not so sure. You worry about them, trying to take care of them, missing them, when they away all your life.

+1. When I get home from a 24 and see my little guy booking it down the hallway looking for his daddy, it makes me forget everything else. I have 5 kids, and let me tell you, I wouldn't trade a single day for any amount of knives in the world.

Commemorate this special occasion! I was able to get a Case peanut manufactured on the same day my daughter was born. $35 and a wonderful memento to pass on to her.

Congrats!! Babies are awesome. Smelly, slobbery, funny, stinky, scary, annoying, wonderful, and awesome. Welcome to the rest of your life brother. From now on, whatever else you do, you'll always be a daddy. Your life will never be the same.

No hobby compares to the experience of raising a child, good luck to you and yours. this place will still be here when you have time to yourself again.

Congrats!!!!

I think it is much easier when they are little, 5 and up is when you want to run and hide. In all honesty kids are great, it will definitely take you to the next level of your life.

Congratulations! You'll still find time and funds for knives and such.

Your in the "oh man my whole life is going to change" pre birth stage. And your right, it will change, for the better! Kids are great and you'll know what love means when he or she pops into the world. I cried more then my kid did when he was born! :D

It'll all be good. Just enjoy and get excited!

My youngest is 25 next month so I can tell you that life goes on. I never started collecting until my kids were out of high school but I was always interested in knives and did use them. Back before the Internet I just read about knives wherever I could; now there is a lot more info at your fingertips.
