I ordered a Ka-Bar USMC, with a leather sheath today, finally did it. I've been wanting one for a few years now and just never did anything and tonight it go the best of me. Can't wait to give it the run around :D

Way to go, I've wanted one since the fifth grade. It's also nice to see back posting!

I had the USMC knife from Case XX. I didn't even get to use it because a good friend needed a solid field knife for around his property, so I gave it to him. He's used the heck outta it and it's still working well for him after nearly 10 years or so.

I bit the bullet a few weeks ago. Got the USMC with leather sheath too, but I managed to find one with the 100th Year anniversary gold etching on the blade. It's such a beautiful knife that I've hesitated to really put it to hard use but hey, that's what they're made for.

Have fun with it :D

I used a ka-bar for years, great knife. I have since retired mine from bush service as it has too much accumulated mojo to risk messing it up. I want to pass it down to my son. Mac

Great choice Fonly
of all the makers I belive KA-BAR'S had the best fit and finish. The other makers such as Case & Ontario knife have the same zink phosphate finish that my old Camillius USMC issue knife had and are of the same high qulity.all of them will give you years of service if you do your part.It seem's that no matter how many years go by or how many kinves I buy these old Marine Corp knives hold a very special place of Honor in my collection

I love mine. I have the exact one. It takes an amazing beating and retains a fine edge. I get it shaving sharp, split wood with it (batton and split) and it will still shave. I did however cut the spine side hand guard off. Mandatory to make it usable.

Welcome to the club. The MkII is, IMO, the best mid-sized fixed blade you can carry for under a hundred that is readily available. The late and lamented Beckers gave them a good run, but....

Yeah, I love my BK7, but I wanted something lighter. I was originally going to get a Recon Tanto, but I like Ka-bar as a company much more, so, here I am.

I can't remember ever seeing a I wanted something lighter, so I got a Ka-bar USMC knife comment before.

Mine has lasted a couple of decades now. I am guilty of some abuse every now and again, but this knife has never failed me. The leather sheath has not fared so well.

Good choice. I have had mine for almost twenty years, and still going srong. and it has seen lots of abuse.
