Well I did it....12 weeks with no and I mean NO FOOD!!

Wow Ren! I can't believe that you went soooo very long without any food. If you did it with your doctor's oversight, provided that you trust your doc, than all I can say is HURRAY!

The only thing that concerns me is the loss of the quarter Ren. Does that mean that we miss out on a quarter personality too. :( That would be a dreadful shame. :( Where exactly is the quarter Ren anyhow? Did you beat him into submission? Did you hide him under the bed? Perhaps you chased him off into the wilderness. I'll have to hang some signs around the area to see if we can find him. After all, we wouldn't want him to go hungry. ;)

(Yeah, I am very overtired this evening.)

Hi all
ok..Its true I ate no food for 12 weeks. I did drink a medically managed liquid protien drink that gave me 800 calories a day. A perfect balance of protien, carbs, electrolytes all the good stuff...yummy ( just kidding)
Hey Ren, I'm a type II too. What's the name of the stuff you were drinking and how expensive was it? Just curious if I should bounce this off my doctor.

I'm trying to do this weight loss/gain muscle thing the hard way. By eating less and doing more exercise. Sounds pretty simple, and it is really. But, being the glutton that I am and having an addictive personality, it's really hard to stop myself from grabbing that last slice of pizza or to not eat the rest of that burger. I commend you, Brother Ren. I'll be happy if I can lose the 20 lbs I want. :)

Congrats man! That is one seriously hellacious kickass achievement, I seriously admire the courage and willpower its taken to achieve that goal.

I'm in a similar boat, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and overweight, heaviest I've ever been in my life infact. I still haven't had the courage to take that first step yet myself. Seriously, you've got me a little inspired, and alot impressed.

Keep up the good work, eh?

Ren , aren't you concerned that with all this weight loss you will look less formidable therefore forcing the Devil to bust you from Trailboss to a mere "hired hand". I hate politics at work!

We will concurrently be at Blade. Bring your MOST favorite knife. I will TRY to catch you and beat you roundly about the head and neck region with a rubber hose. IF I catch you, you have to give me the knife, handle first, mind you.

Whatya think? I have smoked a pack of Lucky Strike no-filter cigarettes for the last 20 years. Should be easy to outrun me. :D

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Ren,

Jeez, buddy...
You could have as least PROTESTED something while you were at it!
Why waste a perfectly good HUNGER STRIKE?

I'm a liberal. You should have called me. I would have hooked you up. :D

Man, I bet your kness are happy :)

Well done on the fast, thats some acheivement, especially with all the food ads on TV and cycling a lot. Whenever I get in from a ride its trough time :D

Hey, nice going there! Awesome discipline ....

I think you should give the "1/4 Ren" his own account here at BF, so he can banter with Gay Manatee and his ilk. ;)

Congrats Ren, now you're a living proof and an inspiration to those out there who just lack the willpower to stop making themselves more fat. I got very slim recently (135ish lbs at 5'10" in your units) and it's all in one's head, fat folks who just whine about being fat and don't do anything about it are just lazy couch potatos.

Oh, and I'm going to be the first to ask for a picture? C'mon Ren, show us the new you! I can almost certainly maybe guaranty that Ken Colucci might not photochop it ... :D

Ren,Congrats on your discipline and willpower.Wishing you continued good health, will we be seeing you on Oprah? Seriously,I applaude you, preventive maintenence is the only way to combat diabetes. It's kind of prevalent in my family, luckily,I modified my diet on the advice of a physician/friend and think I'm on the right track.

All I can do is smile and be happy for a friend!

dropped 20lbs in 2 months, end of january to end of april, just by cutting out pop and cutting back to 1200 calories over the day.

1litre of fruit juice
1-2 pots of coffee
2-3litres of water
no greasy food(no chicken wings, no hamburgers, no fast food, no deep fried, no chips)

hoping to drop another 10-15 by the summer.

I was 200lbs in january, 180lbs now... and I know 170lbs looks and feels great. I was down to 155 before I got this job.

You're not the first, check out post #11.

Ren responded to my question, but somehow managed to ignore my request for pics.

Out-Damn-Standing Ren! Not many, myself included have the mental toughness to pull something like that off. Way to take control of your life and future.

I solemnly swear to not PhotoChop Ren The Devils Trail Boss if he posts a before and after pic.

Signed,
K.V. Collucci
