When I ordered my first Benchmade a few months back I thought to myself; I cannot believe I'm spending this much money on a knife and now here I am buying a Sebenza! :D

I appreciate all of you guys that took the time to answer my questions and lend your thoughts in my last thread. I swear I feel exhausted right now because every free minute I've had I have been obsessing over this purchase. It's something I def. wanted but wanted to make sure it was the right move to go with a Sebenza (think twice-cut once, right?). I decided to go with a Sebenza for the following reasons:

1. The look; I love the simple look that Chris has designed.
2. The attention to detail; in the video reviews I've watched the Sebenza 21 just seemed to be well thought out and executed perfectly.
3. Good steel that I can sharpen (I'm not a steel snob; if it works, it works).
4. Chris' motto in general. I like the way the man does business.
5. Minimalist perfection! I like efficiency and minimalism.

I will post pictures of my small 21 when I get it.

Again, thank you guys!

I took apart my seb to clean and relube for the first time yesterday. That experience alone has exponentially increased my appreciation for the knife and CRK.

Nothing nicer that having a CRK on the way. Be prepared for the small to be small. My first small shocked my that is was small, but then again CRK calls it a small.

You will find the small is a fantastic EDC size, and will be everything you need a pocket knife to be (all of your points checked) is a very light and compact package.

I dared myself to buy a small Sebenza 21, because I generally like larger knives. It amazes me how this knife performs general cutting chores as if it was much larger. It's small, but just the right kind of small. Nice weight, feels just right in the hand, and disappears in my pocket. The clip keeps it secure, but with a slight tug on the lanyard, it's in my hand ready for action. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.

Have you guys used your Smalls for outdoor task? I will admit I have large hands and like large knives but I've come to the conclusion that I don't like carrying large knives anymore.

At first I didn't think I'd like the small, but like everything else in life, it took some time to adjust a smaller knife. Now I love the small and I have no preference between the large/small. It may be awkward at first, but I'm sure you'll love it. Haven't really mine much for work or outdoor stuff

Have not employed for outdoor tasks yet, but it cuts through things with authority. It's small, but it's a big small. The blade is sturdy and there is no movement of the blade. The engineering of this knife is impressive and not marketing. It's fact. Tell me when you get it if you don't agree.

This sounds exactly like what I was wanting. I was carrying a Benchmade 710 and it was just getting to be too much weight wise. I'm ready to have this baby in hand.

No. Buy one. Honestly, of all the small knives I've either owned or handled, this one is the best. There's not as great a challenge in coming out with an excellent large knife as there is with a small one. For most of us, well over 90% of things that need cutting, can be done with this little pocket jewel.

The small Sebenza is a perfect EDC blade. I was in the camp thinking bigger is better......well that is not always true. My favorite is still the 25 but it is absolute overkill for the things I need a knife for and that's why my small micarta Insingo sees more carry time.

I've lately started carrying 3" knives more. I've always stayed around 3.5" the past few years. Well I wanted a nice knife to carry in the office so I bought a small 21 with inlays. Liked it when I got it but thought my 25 would be right back in my pocket after work. The more I had the small the more I started carrying it. It's really all the blade I need for day to day. I still use larger knives but mainly for yard work or hiking. The rest of the time it's one of the two 3" knives I currently own.

It might seem small at first but give it time. I'm glad I did. I was never going to sell mine since it's my wife's favorite and she helped me pick it out, but never thought it would leave the office. I'll probably pick up a small insingo micarta at some point.

Not sure how much help this will be to you but yes, I do use my small seb. outdoors when needed. It performs great! Most recently, I stabbed into a tree to help myself up a really steep muddy hill by the river. It was able to support my weight and stay stuck in the tree, saving me from a pretty dirty slip. Probably shouldn't do this with a knife as it isn't meant for that but hey, it worked. Other than that, all I've used it for outdoors is whittling sticks to cook meat, cutting meat, cutting rope, and poking around the bottom of a river to find a flashlight I dropped in the water.

Congrats and enjoy your Sebenza! I had wanted one for close to 8 years before I finally got my small Seb. It's a great feeling when you finally get it!

I have used my reg lg BG42 for everything from 'dressing' game(Elk is the largest so far)to scrape'n gaskets when rebuild'n my Jeep's tranny, to a steak knife.
The small would have done all of this!
Welcome to the last EDC pocket knife you'll ever need.
I didn't say anydangthing about WANT------:D
