Well I finally decided to drink the kool-aid so to speak. After reading so much about RAT Cutlery and their knives over the past few months I decided to purchase my first RAT. I got an OD Izula two weeks ago, and boy was I anxious until I received it!

Soon as I took the Izula out of the plastic I knew I was in love. I was completely helpless to the call. I immediately had to wrap it like I have seen in the other threads in the RAT Forum. And after I wrapped the Izula I had to wrap the sheath as well! For the past two weeks I have worn this baby everywhere and every way I could think I have had it around my neck, in my pockets, on my belt, and even in my EDC bag.

I thought so much of the Izula I had to purchase a RC-4! I got my RC-4 a few days ago, and tonight after work I am going to put both through their paces.

Pictures sure to follow!

nice! let me know how the RC-4 works out & did you get serrated or pe

I got the Plain Edge. Usually the simpler the better for me, and I think it will be easier to maintain. While the serrations will hold an edge longer I know that there is no way I could put a decent edge back on the serrations when it was needed.

I will get back to you on how the RC-4 holds up!

Great combo of blades there! Now make sure to use them like they were meant to be ;)

Here we go ladies and gentleman:

And yes I know it's not some of the cleanest batoning done, but I tried.

And after all this I was cleaning and oiling my tools and I noticed the tip on the Izula somehow got bent to the left. So I am asking you experts out there what's the best way to get a sharp point back on this little monster?

nice pics, that looks hot.

edit: wow, how did you manage to bent the tip. I thought rat cutlery was nearly indestructible.

"nearly indestructible" is the oprative phrase! One off hit is all it takes. You did give it a hell of a beating, I love it!

I beat my Izula harder than I did the RC-4. I wanted to see how much that little sucker could take. Let me tell you it's a beast in its own right.

The RC-4 is a crazy monster as well. Just holding the RC-4 you know you could throw everything at it and it would still be there able to take on your best another time. It's sort of a masochist I can tell you that, if it could speak it would ask for more!

Well damn, You are making me want to get a HEST and an Izula right now. I gotta try and hold on a bit more, since well I already spent enough on different stuff for this month. lol

Let me tell you, I am hooked. I am looking at purchasing a Tactical Pink Izula and a RC-3 for the fiance. She loved my Izula and wanted a smaller version of the RC-4 for when we go backpacking! So I am thinking if gets those I might be able to get a RC-6 or save up for when the RC-10 comes out!....

Great pictures and a fantastic wrap job. I'm going to have to get one and give it a try.
