Well... I got my Chinese Sidewinder.

It's so... heavy. The latch handle seems tight (it sticks some, what do I do about this?) and the safe handle seems loose. There is some black "stuff" around the pins. The latch is total garbage and even with the rubber plug it won't stay put when the knife is closed. When it's open it's too short and I have to squeeze the handles to get it in. I'm not sure how much of this is normal, the overall condition seems iffy. I wonder if I should have just gone with a Jag. Ah, well, any help or advice would be appreciated. I think I may try to get some Miltech-1 or some WD-40.

Sounds just like mine!!:( They suck!! Fix it like I did mine, throw the piece of sh*t in the trash can and walk away.

Interesting perspective; I'll give you $5 for any you are going to throw away. Better yet, you could analyze the problems and effect repairs, ending up with a decent balisong for not too much money. Please remember that several very knowledgable collectors/flippers on this forum consider the CC not bad for the money (I am not speaking of myself here, though I do agree with their opinion). Granted, a BM 42 "it ain't" but then did you pay a premium price for it? There is information on Clay's and Gollnick's sites that might help. There is also the latchless option.

I paided $15 for mine and it was a waste of $ ,they are to thick to sharpen(they come almost blunt)the latch is week!! and pins started to work there way out after one day of flipping it,they are not pressed so the slide right out! I would have been pissed if I had paided $40 for it.

You spelled weak wrong.
I would have to agree on the blunt edge, but other than that mine is fine. It makes for a nice practice toy and if they could use some steel handles on the Jags they would be set.

where else can you get these online besides knifezilla?

$40+ is a bit much for the mixed reviews thus far.

wasn't there an earlier thread about one of those new cheapies going for $50?
peace.

I don't think Knifezilla would take it back, now. I've played with it too much so it looks used. It seems to flip okay, and it's taken lots of abuse (I've dropped it about 20 times). I don't really care that the blade is dull, as I probably would have hurt myself by now if it wasn't. I put some stuff called Corrosion X or Speed X or whatever on it, and it feels pretty smooth. If the pins hold up, it will hold me over until I get a BM in September. Hell, I'm having a blast flipping this PoS. I payed too much but you can't win them all.

Blah. After a few days this thing has more play than a limp penis. Save your money!
