Well, i'm back to square one.

Let me offer a different opinion, first off I'm a father of 3 but my differencing opinion comes from the fact that I lost my father a year ago after no warning, he was diagnosed after a 14 day hospital stay and 3 days later dead...

Don't do that, maybe ask him to send you one or two favorites but why not let the old guy enjoy them and make him happy. If I would have asked my father to give me something back anytime (even within a few years before he passes) I would NEVER forgive myself.

hey all,
so im about to head off to Cali to my new station. I decided to call my pops to see if he would ship down a set of knives so i can stat my EDC rotation again. I told him the list of 5 knives id like for him to send down (all in CA legal) & this was the response i got:
"oh, well geez son, I'd love to bbbbbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttt...... well, while you were away, i started using some of your knives after i lost my one at work & well i have grown attached to them.........."

because i cant say no to my old man, im taking this opportunity to get a few more knives.

what do y'all think i should get? im thinking about getting 2 folders

only restriction is its got to be CA legal
Heading to San Diego? If so where?

If you like autos, the Kershaw Leek is fun. The CRKT Ripplie is a blast for a flipper. both are quite inexpensive. But, if you want something "dreamy", I don't know what to tell you, too many options.

Big folder and keychain MT: Spyperco Endura and LM Micra, Squirt, or Swiss Army Minichamp. Hard to beat a combination of heavy cutting power, and jack-of-all-trades precise manipulation.

nice, I carry a leatherman sidekick for this reason :D

& to all,
thanks for the suggestions.
There is no price point, practicality vs. price should be kept in mind.
I couldn't tell my father that, he's too good of a man & dont want to disappoint/upset him. Mainly its a good reason to fuel my addiction to knives :D

Good man, let the old guy be happy, tho I'm certain it will cover your Xmas gift this year.
