Well, It Finally Happened...

That is a nifty little cutter, all right:eek:. I reviewed The Native 5 LW recently and this week picked up a couple of the pink-handled ones for Christmas presents.

Glad it wasn’t any worse. Now, you have a story to tell even if it’s a little embarrassing.
Wish I could say something asinine, but I’ve been there and had the same experience. Not as bad, but bad enough that I don’t open some plastic clam shells with a knife anymore..

It happens. Sealed clamshells are the worst, I've yet to figure out the 'right way' to open them.
Good on you for going to the professionals to have it stitched up properly - I'd have been tempted to throw on a butterfly bandage and spend the next few weeks hoping for the best.

Can opener for clam shells works pretty good and haven’t seen anyone get stitches from a can opener.....yet!

I too have added to the texture of my right thumb and left middle finger. The upside of injuring yourself with a very sharp blade is that it will leave a clean wound without tearing... but the downside is that it will almost certainly go through or in deeper before you the brain signal to stop the motion arrives. I was very lucky both times, and I'm glad you were as well.

And, yes, superglue is your best friend, and works even better if you have some self-adhesive bandage wrap to cover / support the injury.

Was actually invinted for something to do with gun parts or sights then discovered during ww2 that it worked better for minor flesh wounds. I believe that’s correct. Was supposed to be used to make clear gun sights originally.

Cutting yourself on a knife isn't all that stupid, it's designed for it. Cutting yourself down to the bone on a street sign, now that's a skill. *cough* Heal up and keep cutting.

We need pitchers!

Funny thing is, I felt the impact from the forward momentum, but didn't really feel the actual cut.
