Well...it happened AGAIN

That looks like it hurt!!! :D When i got My Ka-Bar Kuk i droped it and tryed to catch it, I did, But i caught the blade.... Had a pretty bad slice, no stitches though :D

Ouch!! I've been playing with knives for a long time and it took a while to learn not to try and catch a falling knife.

Ouch! Next time, let it fall. According to my experience, a Busse falling on concrete floor is going to hurt the concrete a lot more than the knife. :D

What's this new Knife catching game I keep hearing of

Really though, Never catch a falling knife....but I'm sure you know that now.
Your lucky it wasn't worse... glad your OK:thumbup:

see sig.

the hard part is trying to convince the ER people that its not intentional. a cut in that area tends to generate all sorts of unusual questions. " no really, the belt grinder grabbed it... honest!"

Ouch!!! Oh man, that looks painful. Makes me want to be VERY careful fondling my blades...

Hope you get well soon.

Thimble collecting is MUCH safer...

You guys must have missed Jerry's INFI THIMBLEGANZA.......

...seriously.....when I would be interviewing a person to work in a restaurant/kitchen setting.....one of my questions was "how do you catch a falling knife that you knocked off the preptable?" if their answer was anything but "YOU DONT"....they were on their way out the door!

plus...a couple of weeks at the Wauseon spa with Jerry (for your knife)is better than a couple of weeks rehabing after visiting your plastic surgeon.

ps....i forgot to tell you .... hope you heal up quick.......war wounds come with the territory!

Andy

Man, you are way lucky you didn't hit any of the vital stuff that is right there... You could have been in some serious trouble!

Heal up quick!!

:eek:Whew!Damn!That's a nasty gash!
Glad it wasn't too serious.Dude, next time just let it fall,no knife is worth body parts or severe blood loss.
Hope you heal up quick:)

There is a safety item you might want to look into.

A cord that goes around the wrist and fastens to one of the talon holes.

Wrist Lanyard.

Put your hand through the lanyard before you draw the knife and keep it there till you put the knife away.

Just a Thought.

First of all, a speedy recovery to you.
A couple of months ago one of my FBH LE's was on my night stand, and my night shirt caught the blade tip and flipped it of the stand. Couldn't get out of the way fast enough. The blade landed edge up, spine side down, on the instep of my right foot. Had it landed edge down I believe it would have cleaved my foot almost in half. I shook for quite a while after that one.
My wife was not at home, and the story has not been related to her. I still get the willies just thinkin about it.
Heal up fast.
The HOGCHOPPER
