History has shown that things run in cycles. I am not historian, mind you, just my observation. With the current events of politics, civil unrest, financial tensions through out the world, and the 5000 year Mayan calander ending, it makes sense about "the end of world" theories. So does the 5000 year calander cycle just reset, or are we entering a new phase of something else?

Too much of a general, angsty statement, I think. Besides, where does it stop? Were there cell phones and Internet and President Obama one baktun ago, and they just all disappeared when this baktun started?
It'd also be a huge coincidence if everything else in the world resets based on some ancient civilization's arbitrary calendar system. No less arbitrary than ours, of course.

The Mayans couldn't have been wrong about today/yesterday being the apocalypse because that's not what they predicted... No? Seems like the messed up, totally incorrect modern interpretation of it is so ubiquitious (shamefully) that most people actually believe it oh well, five second rule, cold weather causes colds, dim light ruins eyes, pit bulls' jaws have a locking mechanism, searing seals in juices, the list keeps growing!

Yeah, they predicted a new beginning, not fire and brimstone, lol. I wonder if there was any apocalypse suicides right before the 21st.
