I just ordered a large regular 21 with double thumb lug. This is my first CRK. I have just been so upset with qc from multiple companies, and I was tired of gambling on a knife every time I would order one. Not to mention that every knife left me wanting more(this might just be the addict in me). Up to date the only knife to even come close to flawless was the pm2, and everyone else had a little blade play at best. So I swear on everything that is holy, If I have to send this one back I'm giving all my knives away and switching to those plastic swords they put in drinks. But I must admit, I've got a little more faith that this one will prove to be a better experience. I can't wait.

Well congratulations you made a good choice. I think you will find there is quite a difference between CRK and the knives you have experienced so far. To me I really started to notice the differences between a CRK and the other knives that I had been carrying gradually. To be truthful I was a little underwhelmed at first, but then day by day I really started to notice and appreciate all of the little details that set his knives apart. Don't be surprised if the sky doesn't open up with a choir of singing angels upon your new knifes arrival. But give it a little time and I bet you will be hooked like the rest of us.

Expensive, but a worthwhile investment! It will serve you well for years, but without a lot of flair. The more you use it (and take it apart) the more you will appreciate the details and craftsmanship that go into the knife.

I was pretty happy with my Sebbie 21 at first but it actually came off-center. Totally off luck for me. I'm either going to get a small CF next or a 25 to try my luck again for my birthday (next month). I have seen the Small in person and I really like the size. I think it works really well with the design overall. I'm also a big fan of Strider knives and the 25 seems to be a bit closer to that style while still maintaining the Sebenza lines so I may try that, just have to decide.

I guess I'm rambling, but in essence my point is that every company can have QC issues. With that said, you'll probably have great luck with CRK and love the blade.

Once I started getting into higher end knives I found that I was often not fully satisfied for the price that I paid for an item. I have been buying, selling, and trading a lot of knives lately to find a daily companion that I dig. I think two things finally clicked for me: 1. I looked at my needs and realized that I did not need a large folder (I was carrying a BM 710 at the time). I love bigger knives because I have bigger hands but I hate the size and weight so I never was satisfied. I took a chance on a small Sebenza 21 and found that it's size is perfect for my needs. 2. I wanted a knife that I felt like would last me a lifetime and that I could pass down to my grandkid one day (I have two daughters).

I know how you feel. I've gotten a few non CRK duds in the past year.
And they were from companies I never had a problem with until the past couple of years.
IMO QC is slipping with several knife manufacturers.

I feel CRK's QC is still top notch, and think you'll get a great knife.
Congrats, and let us know how you like it.

Did you order a large 21 or a large regular? You should be happy either way but they are two different knives. If you're waiting on a large regular you should consider yourself extra lucky!

Ok I lied(sort of). I did originally order it but couldn't get to sleep that night to save my life. I was tossing and turning, and I even got a little nauseous. I had to get up and cancel the order. It was definitely an impulse buy, and that was a large sum of money for me to throw at a knife on a whim. So, I decided to put it off, and I'm proud to say I lasted a WHOLE WEEK! I put my order in earlier today (but I made sure to use a different website in case I got cold feet again, therefore I would not be labeled "that a hole who keeps ordering and immediately canceling the same knife" haha) So now I just have to wait...

My mistake, I ordered the large 21. this time with the single thumb stud. I justified the purchase by getting the least expensive version. Now I'm kicking myself for not going for the micarta inlay.

It's a good place to start.

I was tossing and turning over weather to get the micarta 21 or the micarta 25...in a last minute decision I went with something different. It probably won't be my last though.

Welcome to the CRK family, CRK's are unlike any other knife. Some just don't like them, for the rest of us, they are unique in their own way. It's a wise choice to start off with the Sebenza you are getting. Depending where you bought it from, some are smooth right out of the box, some require a break in period. Once you get it, don't hesitate to ask questions if you have any and post some pics of your new Sebenza.
BTW, I'm sure you can pick up a Micarta Sebenza at a good price if you are pleased with the one you have coming. :)

My 21 has saved me many times from purchasing any more production modern's as I know they just won't compare, BM 940 was the closest though....but then again there was a new leek awhile back.

Especially if you're not able to hold one before you buy, I recommend buying used off the forum...even if it already has some love marks on it. This way you can get a feel for the knife and what it offers at a nicely discounted rate these days. Even though still a substantial amount of money, you'd be surprised how many folks are more at ease carrying/using a $300 large Seb vs. one that's $410-$485. On the other hand, there's nothing like having one that's brand new from the factory that you alone handle for the first time and break in. You'll find there is a huge hop, jump, and leap between the PM2 and the Sebenza, and most people's first, they have a really hard time when that first mark or scuff gets on there especially after dropping that kind of cash...I know I did in the beginning. A used one allows you to not worry about that, and if you like it, either keep it the way it is, sell it and buy a new one, or send it to CRK and let them reblast the scales and make it like new...options are great.

You're describing me to a T. Right down to starting with the PM2s. The used CRKs is the way I'm going now.

Even if you do not like the CRK, you will love the perfection of how it is made. You will forever compare all knives to CRK standard.

well it was supposed to be here today(free shipping only took 2 days), however I was not home to sign so now I will have to wait till Monday at the earliest. I really have a love/ hate feeling towards that seemingly endless wait on a knife delivery.

Ok so I got it. Overall it's wonderful, tight lock up, nice blade/ handle ratio, and so on. But as I've heard others say, I'm a little underwhelmed. I had a feeling I would feel this way after I ordered it but just could not justify spending the extra for the micarta or other inlays. I'm sure I'll worm up to it though(as soon as I get rid of the stupid lanyard). So other than it being a little plain, I love it.

You know what? I ver heard about that reaction from many videos Ive been watching reviewing the knife. I bought a few clones i know  just to get a feel for it cause like you said 400+ is a lot to drop on one knife. People eventually adjust.
