Well... It's finally happening...

Carry it and it will become apparent if you'll like it or not. I grew to like mine more each day. The small 21 took longer to warm up to and it's the one I carry the most now. Mainly because it is my office knife and has the wood inlays.

So I decided to search for this thread, and I must say, I thought I've had my sebenza for longer than 4 months. This was by far the best purchase That I've made in my knife owning career. I have yet to get a knife that has topped the plain 21, and I swear this thing still gets prettier by the day. I just wish I could take a photo that truly captures the countless beauty marks covering the ti slabs. And talk about smooth, this thing has broken in just wonderfully. If I was left with one knife for the rest of my life it would be this large plain 21. The funny thing is though that I really don't want another one(barring any new designs). Don't get me wrong one day I'll probably get my hands on a large micarta insingo, but for now I am as content as you could be. This knife is as close to perfect as I honestly believe I will ever find. Unfortunately I still try to find that one knife that will top it, but inevitably this knife makes it right back into my front pocket where it belongs.

Congratulations. Like you, I didn't feel it was "awesome" at the very beginning of our relationship. From there though, it just got better and better. I could not be happier that I made the purchase of my small sebenza 21.

I've found knives that I like as much as my sebenza, but never have I found a knife that I can rely upon like my sebenza. They're just made to work; no gimmicks, nonsense, hype, etc...

What makes a sebenza so great imo, is its "purity". It's such a simple design, and goes to show that "less is more".

Right now, an Olamic Wayfarer has kicked my seb out of my pocket for a while. That's because it's got all those "bells and whistles" that make it "cool". The sebenza isn't "cool", it's serious. Serious about doing what a good knife should do, and that is worth a lot more that the "cool factor".

Every once in a while I like to dig this thread up to see how my appreciation for my large 21 has(or hasn't) changed. I stand by everything I said in my last post(which was just over a year ago!).
I just got it back from Idaho where it had its first warranty work done. Apparently I pinched the washers which had made it impossible to put everything back together without either slight blade play or stiff action. Well as CRK typically does they went above and beyond. They reheat treated the lock face to prevent future lock wear. Unfortunately though, they had to re blast the slabs erasing almost year and a half worth of pocket wash on the titanium.
I'm so glad I bit the bullet and pulled the trigger back in August of '14. I don't ever see myself parting with this knife.

As always, CRK goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction. Regarding the re-sandblasting though, you really do need to tell them not to do it as it comes standard with the spa treatment.

I always hear about pinched washers but don't actually know what happens to the washers when they are "pinched". Are they deformed cause of incorrect placement and then the slabs were tightened?

She said reblasting was not an option if they re treated the lockbar. I asked them not to do it when I sent it in, but it was either leave everything be or have the lock bar addressed and reblast the slabs.
Regarding the pinched washers, your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that at some point the knife started to get a little play, and when I tightened everything down the action would get really stiff.

I pinched a washer on my 25 once, it was due to trying to pry it apart with my hands after taking the screws out, and when removing the blade the lock bar somehow slammed down right onto the edge of the washer putting a nice dent in it. As always CRK fixed me right up and now I'm a bit more careful around my washers when doing a take down.
