As the unofficial Official on Mavericks, I officially approve of the Drop Point Maverick! However, if I go fishing today, I'll be targeting a different species....

It's not just there Abe. There are states here with such laws as well. The only reason I didn't go to jail in 1982 when I was walking through Texas was that when the officers who stopped to question me checked my knife, an issue pilots knife, I had not sharpened the swedge. The new ones are sharpened from the factory and some folks have to dull them....

Nanny state here in Oz Brian, knife carry is illegal unless you can justify that you're carrying it for employment or hunting, fishing etc

Gone are the days of crocodile Dundee [emoji15]

Is this true of any knife? Regardless of size or configuration? Are slip joints illegal as well?

Complete opposite of what I assumed carry laws to be in Australia. Not much better here in the NY/NJ metro area though.

Everything is illegal. Till recently we couldn't even import one hand opening or flick knives. Autos & daggers are still banned imports.
There is a bit of leeway for knife carry in rural areas but God help you if you're caught carrying one in the city.

Sad state of affairs. You guys have it good [emoji3]

My brother in law is a police officer & told me that you can get booked for carrying any sort of knife without proper excuse. Slip joints included [emoji35]

That totally surprises me. I'm in rural Massachusetts and legally I can carry any fixed blade that isn't a sword and only sharpened on one side. No daggers or dirks. However, in the closest city to me you can't carry anything that isn't a slip joint pocket knife. The thing that sucks here is that every state is different and even within most states the laws differ from county to county. That said, it is better then everything being illegal.

The slip joint thing just blows me away. I've been carrying one since I was a kid.

We should make this guy the prime minister and things will change for the better [emoji3]
