I got my quarterly work bonus today :eek: . Well, after years of owning nothing but Buck's, SOG's, and Kershaw's...AUS-8's, 8Cr13MoV's, 420HC's, and occasionally 14C28N steels... I've finally made the leap to "premium" brands and steels. I went with BF's advice on my purchases. I wanted a Para 2 but felt they were overpriced but my first purchase may be as well. I got the KW exclusive BM810-1401 Contego with the Blue/Black contoured G-10...but I REALLY wanted to get my first Spydie...so I got a Delica with Brown FRN. I've heard nothing but great things about both of these. The axis lock is supposed to be amazing and this has M390 steel. The Delica is VG-10 and FRN which I hear isn't nearly as nice as G-10 but people here say Delica's are excellent "gateway" Spydies. Anyway I'm extremely excited. Off to work, hope tapatalk works today :) You all have an AMAZING day and weekend!!! Mine will be wrought with anticipation :D

P.S. Also got diamond and extra fine rods for my Sharpmaker which I love, and a replacement of each regular rod. I think the M390 may be a beast I'm not really sure. Oh well, if need be I can always go back to my pretty decent sandpaper on mousepad then strop on loaded/unloaded leather belt :)
 
Whoa fella! It's early still; give folks some time :yawn:. Of course we celebrate with you and will more so if you let us know your impressions when your "toys" arrive :D. I have that delica and I assure you it is all you should hope for (in anywhere near the price range); I can't speak to the other. Congrats :thumbup:

Haha just messin with you guys I'm ecstatic not upset. Way too excited for how early it was lol. And believe you me I'm going to post pics and reviews galore :). I can't wait! Thanks guys hopefully the wait won't be too too long.
 
Congratulations! I myself just got a Knifeworks Benchmade 710, so I understand your excitement.
 
You will love them both, but be prepared to start spending more now that you have gone down that road!
 
Congrats! The 810-1401 is one of my favorites for sure. I absolutely love the blue/black G10 combination (I just got the 710-1401 as well).

Also, don't underestimate the PM2. I was never impressed with the PM2 until I finally broke down and bought one simply to see what the hype was all about. Once getting my hands on one it immediately became one of my most favorite knife designs and now I'm two away from having all of the production, sprint run, and exclusive variations.
 
I bet you're going to reach for that Delica a lot more than the BM, if you intend to carry them both ;)

Delica will likely be my work EDC. 810 likely my side job (demolition/ scrap metal processing) and outdoors EDC folder. I'm extremely pumped for them both. The more I hear the more excited I get! Yes I am worried about my bank account now that I've taken the leap haha. Thanks all I'll post pics as soon as I get them!
