Well I've really gone and done it now!

It is definitely contagious, I recently bought my first premium brand knife (ZT0566) after spending years thinking AUS-8 was what I wanted. One day uf EDC-ing the ZT and I'm blown away at how much better it is at everything, and now I've also managed to purchase a Delica as well. I have no regrets :)

Ok so last night I had a dream that they arrived and they were both just spectacular. I think I may have a problem :). Sounds like a weird question to ask but does anyone else ever dream about knives or is it just my rapidly growing anticipation?

Here's the nicest knife I own and nicest knife I will own for the forseeable future...

I love my life right now :love_heart:

And now my very first Spydie. Still not sold on the look but once it's firm in my hand all that goes out the window and it just feels right. This will be the first of many. I've crossed a line and there's no going back now...

The practical functionality will make it beautiful to you.

And since I'm a man of little patience, during a trip to the local fun shop/range over the weekend I noticed they got a whole lot of Benchmades in sooo... Mini-grip w/ Spydie Hole. Thing feels like a tank in my hand. By the way, I'm in love with Axis locks now.

So congratulations Blade Forums, you've turned me into a monster...Thank you :glee:

In the past week I've gone from Gerbers, Kershaws, and Bucks...mystery steels, 8Cr13Mov, 420HC, and my previous grail steel of Sandvik 14C28N to Benchmades and Spydies and added 154CM, VG-10, and M3 f'ing 90!

I love you guys :).

I love all my new acquisitions. I have no complaints except for minor things like the blade being ever so slightly off center on the Delica and the bevels being somewhat uneven on the mini grip but I've evened them out and will tinker a bit with the Spydie. I haven't had much time at all with the Spydie and Contego yet. I really couldn't be more delighted with each and every one of these knives. The Contego is just flat out amazing and built like a tank. The mini grip is too. Those Axis locks are amazing to me. As for the Delica, when I hold it, it almost feels like a natural extension of my hand, like it's a part of me. I never would've taken this leap without BF, I never would've known how to sharpen a knife without BF, you guys rock!

Oh it already has :)

Haha I have a feeling I will from time to time as well. This was my first $500 or so weekend. I also got diamond and ultrafine sharpmaker rods and a DMT "credit card" fine diamond stone for when I'm out and about and need a razor's edge :)

Happy, happy, happy.....

Happy to validate your need for attention.

BTW, nothing wrong with what you already had. Buck makes outstanding knives. AUS8 Properly done is an outstanding steel. Same with the Chinese steels you mentioned. In the end, they are all metals that are mixed properly to make great knives in many cases.

You picked 2 nice knives. I love Benchmade knives also, Spyderco has never bit me, but I have a couple. I also have some CRKT knives that have silky smooth IKBS pivots and outstanding steel and grinds.
Don't get lost in the name game. It'll drain your wallet and not always fit your likes.

Don't get me wrong I still love all of my knives. It's not like I'm throwing them away or never going to carry or use them anymore. I wanted to try some of the higher end steels and brands and I'm very impressed thus far (as much as possible without using them much at all yet). Still love my Kershaw Thermite in 8Cr13MoV (actually all my Kershaws for that matter), still love ALL my Bucks, my 1998 Nighthawk 650 is my favorite fixed blade that I own and that's 420HC. I don't own any CRKT's but my buddy has the M16 I think it is and he loves it, had it through 2 deployments to Iraq and swears by it. Considering one of those or something like it. I wasn't saying everything under $50 is crap it's certainly not. I'm just excited as hell to finally get some of the "premium" brands and steels that are always being talked about. I love them so far and I'm extremely pumped about it as you can tell from my need for attention. The only knife I own that I have absolutely no attachment to is a $5 MTech that I have no idea where it came from. Not knocking any knives (except a few Gerbers that don't even say what kind of steel is used), I just wanted to share my new acquisitions is all.

Definitely check out the PM2 at some point. I really think you'd like it based on your last purchases.

Thanks snooka. Yea akrapacs the PM2 was/is on my short list for sure. I would've got that instead of the relics but I wanted the kw Benchmade and iirc kw was pre order only or completely out of every para 2 at the time. Definitely one I'll be looking into in the future as I do want to try out that lock and my delica is growing on me and I didn't think I'd like it after I ordered it so the para2 is on my watch list. Tbanks
