Well my friends, it's over for me.

Gob Bless you Michael. You were an inspiration to me when I first got on board here.

I think you would have been better off just closing the doors on youre shop instead of selling everything off. It's just going to cost you a lot more when life swings back to an even keel again.

Good luck my friend.

Thanks for all the compassion and prayers when Deb was going through the cancer.

Micheal, I hope it wasn't because of my HT relish. Good luck in the new direction in life. You will be missed. :(
PS: Check in next August if you want more relish.;)

Good luck with your next ventures. I'm sorry to hear about you quitting the knifemaking, and like others, I just don't understand why. Did you need help of any kind?

Michael, my friend---At least you must know that you have left your mark indelibly in the knive making society and the friends you have acquired. We have to respect your wishes even though they do not coincide with ours. You can rest assured that you did not burn any bridges or shut any gates behind you and the pleasure in your return would over shadow the sorrow in your leaving. ---Sandy---

Dunno what your reasons are but they are your reasons.

I hope eveything is okay with you. Good luck for the future sir.

Mike

When he said he's done, he means it. I was hoping he would step back in and give a reason.

Good luck L6 and all the best:)

Any how L6, I remember you from what seems like way back, even though I ain't no veteran yet. Dag man; it seems like a big rock fell. Real displeased you have to leave it. Best to you and all yours.

Roger

Michael, You are the one that introduced me to these forums. Ive never been on any forums anywhere until You turned me on to this one. You are an ICON here as well as just a dam good Christian Man excuse my english.

At least check in once in a while. You will be missed

Well thats too bad. I have been on this forum forever and used to talk with Mike in chat all the time. Then things happened here and the computer had a major crash (never could get my old name back, and never could figure out how to get back in the chat room)and a few other things. Anyways it has been quite some time since I have talked to Mike. If only more people knew how generous and outgoing Mike was behind the scenes, you would almost not believe that anybody could be that nice...but I assure you its true.

Mike, my Cooper knives will now be put up and only used for special occasions. I certainly hope to see you take up knifemaking once again some time, but whatever you choose to do now I am sure you will do it as well as possible.

Merry Christmas Mike.

Best wishes Michael! You are one of the last "Old School Forumites" from the fledgling years here on BFC. I has been my pleasure to cross paths with you. You've always had some crazy ideas... and thinking out of the box is one of your strongest traits.

Sincerely,
Rob

Wow...!

I don't really know what to say Michael. If you feel this is a positive step for you, then I am happy. Thankfully I still have a bunch of your patterns that you sent me; perhaps a Copper Designed, Rejman build blade will be a special project for me in 2006!

I am one of many people who have benefitted from Mike's generosity. Mike just yesterday I pulled out the lockback folder "kit" you made and sent me. I will start filing the blade this month. You may have sold your equipment and posted this post, but don't think you won't be getting e-mails from me asking how to do my thing better!

Holy Cow...I have been down myself for the last couple of years but am going to stick to my guns and not give up unless my health gives out...

Sorry to see ya go Mike you will be missed by us all.

Bruce

Mike I never got a chance to interact with you but have enjoyed reading your posts. I suspect you have a good reason for giving up this crazy obsession we all seem to share. I pray that God will watch over you. JIM

I think we're preaching to the chior. Surely if Mike had seen any of these posts of kindness and good wishes, he would have responded. He must have severed his contact with the forums at the same time he sold his stuff off. I'd be dissapointed if he had been reading these 36 posts and hadn't checked in. Probably can lock this one up.

Mike, it's hard for me to believe you are really giving up the making. Ol' L6 is still part of the whole here, fella. We are gonna miss you, and I hope you hang around here. You may have quit making, but you are and will always be a fine knife maker, and a great guy.

Mikey, I heard that you were done making knives from Pat the other night on Chat. Of course I was sorry to hear that. I didn't think you was done with BFC also, but I guess they go hand in hand.

You have been a friend since my earliest days here and on Chat. I will always tresure the knife you gave me. I understand you have traded you're knife making tools for woodworking tools, I hope whatever you do brings you joy.

Please keep in touch, here, Chat or email.

Your friend Phil.
