We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

I guess that explians why I have not been able to find any good Schrade switchblades latley.

Some do-gooder probably saw your ad and reported it to the eBay authorities.
There are lots of prohibited items sold every day on eBay.I think their policy is mainly a "cover-your-butt" thing and they don't enforce it unless it's reported.
I've sold a lot of live "collector" ammunition in the last few years and have only had one ad pulled.
Some ammo sellers put weasel words in the ad - "this auction is for the box only! The box was full but I can't sell the cartridges per eBay policy.I will gift them to the winning bidder,if they pay shipping".
Others just quote an $8-10 shipping charge and any fool knows it doesn't cost that to ship an empty box.
Be careful about putting your e-mail addy in an ad,unless you "no-spam" it as a lot of spammers use software to gather e-mail addys from eBay ads.
If you check,Paypal has similar policies but I've never had a problem with them.
Wait a few days and relist it,being careful what words you put in the header line.
Ron

It wasn't my ad, I was bidding on it, and they deleted any info I had on the seller.

AH one of my pet peeves. All that has been said is quite true. Usually the person who contacts ebay and reports it is the one who the contacts the seller for a private deal. These pieces a usually higher end rarer knives and this is done by a few nefarious people ( I know most of them and when I confirm one I do not deal with the individual on any level anymore ).

Here is my recomendation ( which I realize you did not ask for ). If I see a piece go on ebay, that I have an interest in, I bid it. Then I contact the seller and advise them of my name tel email ect. I then explain this entire situation and advise the seller of what may happen and if they want to contact me if it is taken off that is fine I will make an offer. If the piece stays on more power to them and that is fine with me, I will simply bid the auction which is what I would certainly prefer. I also mark down who the seller is ( for reference, after ebay saves the world by pulling the auction) . I do this only when the item is on. I do not contact the seller again unless they contact me. I also always ask who has made them offers since the auction got shut down sometimes they tell me sometimes not. I also explain if they contact me that I will make an offer but will not get into a private blind bidding auction.

I know some collectors who I believe would literally kill for a rare KORN patent or something similar. Many of the people in this field are liars and cheats ( looks what is going on with the Schrade collection which was supposed to be kept intact in a museum ). As is obvious, I love these artifacts however a knife is only a knife my name, honor and reputation will be all I take with me ( unless I can find a loophole, I am still looking ) when I pass from this mortal coil. To demean oneself with greed and deceit, degrades the entire study and only hurts these sorely maligned artifacts even further than they have been by morons who have no understanding of them and pass idiot laws against them.

OK did I miss anyone I believe I have picked on every wrong doer whoops oh yeah Osama is a puke faced wussy. That should do it. LT

Well, I guess that about covers the flyby.....:D

Totally insane...Totally unnamed...(with apologies to Steve Earle).
Ebay is somewhat inconsistent in their policy making and enforcing.
(Sarcasm intended).

hi, i know what he's talking about awhile back i listed a small flylock both blades 1 1/2 inches or less and the auction was pulled for having blades more than 2 inches long so i relisted saying blades were under 2 inches no more problems. i think if you list onw stating blades are under 2 inches in your add even though it might be 4inches long you wont get hassled thanks

Ebay is owned by liberal foreigners who believe like so called "american" liberals that the land of the free should be the land like theirs or in the case of "american" liberals (i dont want to type the word and start an argument here) they believe this should be a handout playground ( you know? vote for me and i will give you something but i will also take something since you shouldnt have to work and support or worry about yourself) oh and now when they get your vote you are under their power and they can threaten you with if you dont vote for me now i will take your freebies and since you've had handouts for so long well what else does your lazy @%$ know how to do? and if they can take your freedoms well how you gonna fight a battle against them?

Ahh soo, we learn something new every day. Thank you for enlightening me to the ways of the unscrupulous penknife peddlers.
Thanks Rick

I was mainly speaking of firearms but all you have to do is look in an outdoor magazine and you will notice that the liberal controlled states dont allow their citizens to purchase many knives such as double edged or knives of 10" overall, blades over 4" and on and on!

sdt11670, how do you remove scratches from the bolsters without harming the handles? Would you please e-mail me, you have yours turned off in your profile.

And the bastids did it again.

Rich,
I was looking at the bidder list on that ad when they pulled it! When I tried to go back to the ad,it said "invalid item".
That was a very nice looking knife!
I see some "press button" ads are still listed. Wonder if the words "push button" is programmed into someones search.

I don't know, this is the third time this has happened and all three were nice mint pieces. I would have to go with LT's explination, but this time I have the sellers info. In any case, it is really starting to piss me off.

The explanation is exactly what I said if it is a nice knife that someone wants they report it as a violation and it will be removed. It is not set for words or anything else. However every so often the ebay POLICE do a cursary culling just to show that they are in compliance with what they feel are the laws regarding these items.

However at least tonight I will be able to sleep soundly knowing that while Anthrax, Dirty bombs, Avian flu, and insane zealots may end my existence in the night. The world shall be safe from the horrors of 60 year old knives which open with a spring akin to a woman hair pin because they are banned from Ebay and indeed depending on where you live and the degree of stupidity of your particular lawmakers may even be a felony.

Yup prioritys are very important. Always remember the rule, if something is logical, reasonable and truly the correct thing to do. It will only be instituted as policy when all three of these conditions are negated. LT
