Welp I'm screwed

Man, lots of great advice and even people doing there best to push me the right direction, what a great forum, thank you guys.

So my wife is a Veterinarian and we own our own clinic. I have a combination of PTSD, Pre-park shakes, heart issues...etc, basically this all means I have extremely shaky hands. I actually own a decent set of waterstones, and even have a guide for my waterstones where all I have to do is drag the knife at a 90 degree angle to the surface I'm working on. Well folks, I'm one of those sharp knife to butter people and not even ashamed to admit it. I can make a knife serviceable, but if I want a decent edge I have to leave it with my neighbor for a few days. Now don't get me wrong he has taught me all the techniques, I have read and read and watched video after video. I'm just at the point where I'm physically unable to maintain a fixed angle along an entire edge even if that angle is 90 degrees.

Luckily we live in a world where fixed sharpening systems do exist. So my choices were all the usual suspects, and I think I spent 3 days watching youtubers sharpen everything from butter knives to Sebenzas. In the end I chose the WEPS as I will be sharpening both my knives and my wife's surgical equipment. I'm still in the learning stage on it, so I haven't progressed passed things like, cheap pocket knives you get from the local feed store as promos, but my progress is steady, my stones are breaking in and I'm actually getting very sharp edges. Few more days and I'll probably start with that buck 691C.

Up to this point it had been electric sharpeners for me, now I'm geared and ready to take the next step in both sharpening and knife collecting.

Wait till years from now and you find that Kershaw in a box o blades and you realize it did everything you ever wanted.

I spent thousands of thousands of dollars on knives and realized many times I just wish I had my Gerber EZ Out back!

My modern version of that knife is the Spyderco Military. Sold pretty much all my high end stuff. As your tastes and preferences for ergos and design eventually they will become so refined that you can pretty much look at knife and know you will love it or hate it!

I'm thinking later this month I may pick up a ZT 0450CF, black on black....I saw the Benchmade Subforum, is ZT not a sponsor here?

You have good taste! The 0450 (all Ti) was the knife that started me on the path (or pathology) to knife obsession. You will love it.

From what I've read, ZT used to sponsor a sub. Now it's mostly in GENERAL.
