weltman plumbing over charged

I was ripped off by a plumbing company called weltman plumbing of berkeley heights nj. I had a small piece of pipe installed and they charged me 600.00 bucks for an hours labor. another company came to my house to install a facuet today and laughed when i told them what i paided. What should i do about this. P.s after talking with my neighbors they too said they were ripped off by the infamous weltman scam. What should i do guys. pps. they other company said a repair like that would have only been a hundred bucks. . I feel so so very ripped off , all i ever wanted was a good deal.

Did you pay them yet? If not don't. Or cancel the check, or do a chargeback on the credit card.... Let them sue you. Let them go to small claims court and tell the judge they want you to pay them $600 an hour.

Yes, but first call the company up and ask to speak to the office manager or someone like that. It may just be an error. They may have intended to charge you $60 and someone just entered an extra zero, type-o. And when you call, phrase it like that. Don't start with, "You G-- D---- sons of B----s, what do you take me for!?! You're trying to rob me blind!" No, start off with, "I received this bill and it seems rather high. Another plumber told me a job like this might go for sixty dollars. So, I was thinking that maybe someone just made a type-o."

Did you get any sort of a quote, written or verbal, before they started?

if ya signed something ya probably gave them permission to do the work.

if ya dont pay they are gonna put a lien on your home.

not that i think its fair, havent ever even heard of the company, but most companies wont come out and do a lot of work with no signature on a contract. if they did (no contract) and ya already paid do a chargeback/cancel check/call them/etc, all good advice.

good luck i hate crooked plumbers (no offense to all the good honest plumbers out there lol)

edited to add: just noticed the location make sure they arent mobbed up lol.
