Wenger alox models vs. Victorinox alox

The Soldiers also will not have the engraving plate on the backside scale.
Well my Vic Pioneer/Soldier(?) has a lanyard ring, a date on the blade (99) and no engraving plate.
Hmmm so is it a Soldier with a lanyard ring or a Pioneer with a date and no engraving plate?
Either way its a good knife.
:)

Does your knife have a ring or a bail?? It seems as though you have a bit of an oddball there.

It has a ring just like on my other vics.

Some Pioneers have gotten dated blades if Vic made too many. The missing engraving plate is an oddity though. This Vic might actually be a little bit collectible (it is odd that the most collectible Vics are the oddballs and the ones with factory defects).

Cool! I guess i'll poke that one away for safe keeping!
If i'm in an Alox mood i usually take my farmer anyway, its a good complement to my Vic Compact.

The Pioneers I've got with dated blades are the same. I also have an undated Pioneer with no engraving plate.
