Wenger of Victorinox?

I own mostly Vic's but I have one Wenger. I wish Vic would make a locking blade model in it's regular size knives, the Wenger I have has this feature. I try to rotate my SAK EDC amongst the following:

Pocket Pal
Recruit
Tinker
Super Tinker
Ranger
SwissChamp
Adventurer
SwissTool

Man, I didn't think I had THAT many!

I just got a good deal on a Soldier - virtually giving them away.

I also have a SwissChamp but like other members, I found I only used some of the features - noticably the blade, awl, bottle opener etc. So, that's why the Soldier appealed as a sheeple friendly EDC.

It has more heavy duty / thicker blades and opener, The awl is in a better position and works better than the Swisschamp. It's thin, quite light, has a good grip (better than regular SAK's IMO) and nice overall finish. The springs are much stronger too and the tools close with a distinctive "snap" (watch your fingers!!)

IMO SAK's of this type and all models for that matter are one of, if not the best value for money items you can buy in this world ! Take care of it and it will last you a lifetime. For $15, what other product can you say that about ???

Good luck with your purchases :)

I was in Lowe's the other day and noticed that they had what looked like a Tinker for $9.99. Same features, the only difference I could see was that the scales were pebble grained instead of smooth. Packaging said it was Victorinox, made in Switzerland.

When side by side with my Tinker, they look identical to me except for the finish of the scales. I actually like the scales on the $9.99 special better.
