Wenger vs. Victorinox

Definitely Victorinox. The Wenger's just seem more cheaply constructed. However the Evo 18 has the perfect combination of tools for me, except for the damn nail file. Tholiver, I second the need for the pen blade in place of it.

I had a friend that sells them tell me that they both ship from opposite sides of the same warehouse.I have had many wenger's and my dad has carries a Vic for almost a decade now.No complaints about either.

Since this is all about the knives, not their use in the wilderness, I'm going to move this to the Multitools forum ...

LoL i think it is a mental brand placement block. it is placed in our brains now that we like Vic better just because we keep hearing it lol.

Hi,

I have around 400 Vics in my collection (I've been at it for many years). My first Vic was a Huntsman some 51 years ago.

Bought a Wenger EVOGrip 18 with the yellow grip a while ago. I am impressed and will probably add at least all of the model 18's to my collection.

Having owned a few other Wengers, if my EVOGrip 18 is representative, it appears that Vic/Wenger have solved the tradition weak backspring problem with the older Wengers.

Best - Joe

I don't like Wenger. They feel cheap and last the quality present in Victornox. Even though they are all under the same company, I will buy Victornox knives.

I believe it would be difficult to own only one. If I did, it would probably be the WorkChamp.

Some of my favorite Vic'Nox products have the locking mechanism. The Rucksack/Adventurer/Trailmaster/Locksmith/Parachutist knives all provide a huge amount of utility for the cost. Collecting V'noxs is way cheaper than collecting some knives I am into, so I should probably do it more. Having lost a $700 Sebenza before, there is a good reason to carry a V'nox knife and be totally satisfied. They are fantastic tools, and a very reasonable price.

The Cybertools are also great. How often have you been the only guy witha hex head torx bit when someone needed it? V'nox tools make life better and easier. If I could be a salesman for them, I would. They make awesome innovative products.

P.s. So it is not possible to own just one. To carry just one, yeah sure (you light weight :) ). They are purely addictice.

I really like the new EVO grip Wengers, and the Rangers, too. But i like Victorinox just as much, really.

I own both and have used both. I have never been unhappy with the quality of the Wengers I've owned, but the Victorinox is of higher quality overall.
