Wenger will be no more.

I like Victorinox but must admit that in some features Wenger where ahead. They had the first self loking screwdriver that under pressure did not close on finghers. I bought last year the titanium handle uely steck linner lock and is somethin You could never immagine to find in the mass production Saks lines.

 It may be only local news but our K-Mart here (Guam) is now selling the EvoGrip 18 knife for $6.74. Because it has scissors, tweezers, nail file and other tools that a woman might find useful, I bought one for my wife for Mothers Day. Of course, I will also have to throw in flowers, chocolate or some more "romantic" item as well, unless I want the 2.5 inch blade used on me :D.

I have no idea if this reduced price has anything to do with the Wenger brand being discontinued, but other forum members might check their local suppliers. The knife is too thick (4 layers), too heavy (3.1 ounces) and too yellow to appeal to me, but it might be a good purse carry for my wife. Perhaps she can even be trained to carry a knife rather than constantly borrow mine .

Somehow, I might suspect that Wenger discontinuing its brand name would result in the Wenger knives beoming collectible and increasing in price. But if I understood retail pricing and basic economics, I would be a solvent person rather than an impoverished school teacher and knife enthusiast!!

I think it's about time Victorinox took their knives up a notch. They should take a look at Leatherman and see that adding a 154cm main blade would be a big seller. I'd replace my current models. Here's hoping.

All I want is a larger model with a stylus. :(
