Went camping last night(pic heavy)

Good Lord. How'd they get you to leave??? Fantastic posting!

Wow, what an awesome location! Great pics, it looks like it was a great time! Thanks for sharing!

The house I live in has newspaper wallpaper in the cellar house and closets.

Now is that out in Wayne Co??? I was thinking you said you lived out that way.

It's just barely past the Lincoln/Wayne border on the Lincoln county side. It is about 20 minutes past East Lynn Lake

Doesn't ring a bell... I'll ask my father he's a retired State trooper he knows quite a few people in and around the county

Have been fortunate not to stumble on to any copperheads yet this year, And I do not currently own a metal detector although its on the list of things I need/want. I have no doubt that there are some relics buried up there on the farm near the old homeplace. As far as I know there are no plowed areas(its a cattle farm) about 500 acres pasture and about 2200 acres of timber. Its a really big farm.

I just got my first Metal detector...I always wanted one, I have yet to use it except on the plate in my head...can't wait to get out there and look for meteors...and GOLD...lol. I have really bad luck..I might have bought a dog poo detector...we'll see, Gene

EDIT: I forgot to tell you...GREAT POSTING..it makes me really want to go out.

Great pics dude! On my grandma's side, her sister has a 125 acre farm here in Michigan that borders a river. Its very pretty, but since my grandma passed away last year, its tough to try to keep in touch. They are true farmers and we are just "city folk"! I miss going there.....speaking of which...wana adopt me? :-)
p.s. Great choice in knives too!

Nice cooking style with the burger! Really got to try that!

Would you mind if I send your pics to some people with whom I joined a bushcraft/cooking course this year? It would make a nice addition to the other outdoor cooking methods that were shown?

Thanks,
Ted

Great pics bro, I have just bought a book from a second hand book shop called ' Roughing it easy ' and that shows how to make and cook with a Hobo can and also those meatballs in onions !
It also has cooking a cake inside an orange by pouring cake or muffin batter into a hollowed out orange, wrapping it in foil ,if available and placing it onto some hot coals etc !!!

I don't mind at all:thumbup: I got everything out of an old issue of "The Backwoodsman"

You can do eggs the same way, by cutting off the top of an orange or onion and holloiwng it out then putting it in the coals. I've got a few more things that I want to try out the next time I go. I'll be sure to post lots of pics:thumbup:

WVHILLS........Thanks man! Awesome photos! They brought back a lot of memories. We used to camp out in the Upper Penninsula back home when I was a kid and the hobo stove was the way to go. The only thing we did different was that we used a "church key" and put a ring of holes around the top and bottom of the can. All of our meals were cooked on those babies. Just using dead fall twigs, bark, pine cones, dead branches etc. We would do eggs, bacon burgers, steaks, brook trout you name it. Thanks for the memories. It also makes me want to get out with the metal detector.

Very cool photos. Beautiful family farm, and that Busse is very sweet. Thank you for sharing your fun time.
