Went camping to chop & baton with BK-7, BK-9 & Kukri & Khukuri

The only problem with the camping trip is that I left home on Saturday and returned on Sunday - not nearly enough time in the bush! I didn't even get to try out all the knives I took with me! But it was a good trip nonetheless and I managed to test out my choppers (last time was before I got the BK-9 or HI Khuk or Moras). It's a pity I had to come home to be available for work - ahhh to be the idle rich and spend all week playing with knives!

Was the BK-7 comfortable batoning? Did it go through the wood fairly easy?

It really didn't have the weight to be a good chopper, but it was great for batoning - comfortable in that task and going through the wood easily. I would happily take a big chopper + BK-7 for batoning + Mora for carving to handle several weeks in the bush.

Of course the BK-9 is a similar profile to the BK-7 which makes it good at batoning and it is way better at chopping - so a BK-9 for chopping & batoning and a Mora for carving would also work if you didn't want the extra weight of a large Khukuri or axe.
