Usually on Monday I have a hour or more layover right next to a State trout farm. They have a lake you can fish. I don't know if they stick it with trout cause all I have ever caught is smallmouth. I caught one on my second cast of the day....which is always a good start.

First I had a snack. I used the Breeden Pathfinder to cut up my maple pecan roll from Vern's Place. These things are huge.

One smallmouth I kept.

Note to self....don't put knife on top of fish that is still thrashing.

Nice pics! Good Smally bro.

I've had fish throw a hook back at me, but never a knife:eek:

You live you learn I guess

Later that day, in the ER:

How did you get stabbed sir?
A fish threw my knife at me.

Nice looking Smally! Got to love smallmouth fishing.

And that pecan roll looks amazing.

I'm laughing my head off on the blurry picture of the fish knocking your knife around. That is exactly the kind of thing that would happen to me! Nice fish - at first I thought your roll was a fish with one hell of a corn flake crust. I like the taste of smallmouth better than pond raised rainbows anyhow.

Did you just put the fish in a cooler bag or did you just cook it there? You mentioned a layover, if you were flying, how can you take a fish on a plane? Isn't there some stupid regulation that prevents that? How the crap do you take the scales off anyways?

"I am sorry sir, for security reasons you can't take a bass on the plane."

"Well, I'll just have to check it in with my bags then...."

:D:D:D

Well I wasn't flying...

This guy got added to the stockpile in the freezer. Got 6 bass hanging out in there. Probably head up north over the weekend for some trout fishing.

I like the fish thrashing picture the best. The Pathfinder makes a great peanut butter spreader.

I'm downright envious of these Pathfinder pics!:( Oh, well...just 13 more days and I'll have MY Pathfinder in my hands! :D

Youre the first person I ever heard of that catches smallmouth and eats them???

Hmm, me thinks that you and your friends have been missing out on one hell of a good tasting fish!!!

Now carp - well the UK guys can have them.....

Great pics bro, that knife looks a real nice practical size and shape !!!!
