Hey tony,

I think if I saw those vultures at the beginning of a hike, I might take it as a sign, turn around and go home! :(

Great pictures, though.

The only two mushrooms I'm interested in is Fomes fomentarius and Inonotus obliquus - both tinder fungii. Can't tell the difference between a Morel and a moraine. :(

Doc

Nice - that water is begging for a canoe!

You aint kidding, matter of fact, if you look at the shoreline on the left of the last pic. That yellow spot is a guy in a kayak.

I was thinking the same thing Doc, but hey I was full of energy at the beginning of the hike. But it was hot and humid today, so by the end I was dead tired and thankful they weren't there.;)

It's always funny how mossy and green stuff is back east. Any fish in that lake?

I spotted a bunch of sunny's and a few small bass. I didn't have my gear on me, but I plan on heading back there with a boat soon.

Nice shots. If I didn't know you were on the other side of the country, I'd say we trek some of the same area.

that second picture of the lake was near the parking lot. I can see it on Google Earth. :)

Good thing you are up-river from New York!

Big Bass you say, I am definately going back, I have fished Candlewood, and Wampuss and had luck on each with Bass. This lake looked beautiful, and I didn't see anyone fishing there. So if its not as pressured as the other two, I am sure the fishing will be great then.

Thanks for the heads up! You really lived up to your name!
