Went testing some INFI...

I am also a bit surprised that chopping has caused those chips in your photo. Is it because you were digging with it as well and hit rocks?

the edge chipped cutting through wood? is that normal? I thought INFI was the mother of all steels and the edge angle was rather obtuse on Busse? not meaning to stir anything but I haven't handled a Busse and the edge durability is one of the reasons I'm thinking of one.

I know on my native forged parangs and goloks, edge chipping happens all the time as we grind the edges real thin for use on brush and softwoods.

First off, I'm sorry for the confusion. Let me clear this. The edge didn't chip at all from chopping the wood, but we did alot of digging with it and hit several rocks. For example, the SFNO and SH-e hadn't any chips. That's because we digged the most with the SHSH and because it has the thinnest edge of the trio. The SH-e has a assymetrical edge(I'm not sure how many degrees it has), the SFNO has a v-edge (30degree) and the SHSH has a v-edge (17degree). And like Tyrkon said, the edge of the SHSH was reprofiled by the previous owner.
