Went to my first meeting today

I know of two people with over 20 years clean. Good for you, no matter how hard it seems it can be done.

Keep up the good work It will pay off 2 fold in the long run..

Good for you SS. I realize it's an old cliché but the first step in such a process truly is the hardest. You've gotten that behind you so stay strong and stay the course. Good luck. ;) ;)

What we go through in life is for a greater purpose. YOU hang in there and don't give up. Somebody in your future will need to learn from your experiences. All the best to you.

SS. Hang in there. If anything comes up that I can help with, even if it is to talk drop me a line. You have taken the biggest and hardest step, forward is the only direction to look.

with all the money you are going to save, imagine all the nice blades you will buy ! :)

When did you realize it was time to stop?

Let's see...
1. When It takes 3 hours of constant smoking to get high.
2. When you go to a rave and it no longer is about enjoying the music but about scoring the rolls.
3. When you wish the party could last forever and get all sad when you leave the rave. (that was a big one)
4. When your younger brother (18) gets arrested for possession of an 8 ball of meth and an oz of pot.
5. When you and your friends have to constantly remind each other to drink water and eat.
6. When the things that come out of your mouth seem like total nonsense because you have not slept in 4 days.

Dude like the Bastid said actually he didn't in so many words say it but remember your not alone in this, use your support group when ya feel like your gonna waver, whether it's people on BFC or NA don't be afraid to ask for help.

Like my old man always said,"The power to change our lives is always within us."

This a big, positive step towards a much better life for you. Just keep the Serenity Prayer in your head, and you'll do just fine. I haven't smoked anything since 1988, and I was the guy at the party who could NEVER get enough weed to smoke. I really don't miss it at all.

{God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference. }

Hang in there; it will be a challenge, and you will probably have to find a new crowd of people to hang around with, but the quality of your life WILL drastically improve. :)

You're definitely going to have to find a new clique [sic]. After you're clean for a while, you can visit with your old friends, but you're going to have to be on your best behavior.
