I'm still hacking away, as soon as I get one thing working I move on to the next.

My current problem is I can't write CD's in Ubuntu.

Yes, K3b is quite nice, I installed it from synaptic, I used easyubuntu as Dunhausen recommends when I was in ubuntu 6.06, but in 7.04 I haven't needed it, I have installed just about everything with synaptic: codecs, K3b, bluetooth, Gcompris (for the kids), ntfs-3g, etc.

Do you still need to manually install "dvd+rw-tools"?

I have installed K3B, it gets to where it says "Writing", but then just sits doing nothing.

For what I have been reading on lInux forums, this is a common problem with Fiesty Fawn Ubuntu.
