Yangdu has decided we need a bigger place than the Titanic (600 square feet) so she bought a double wide (1060 square feet) Titanic II here in the same senior park (Green Acres if you can believe it) about 50 yards east of us. Not a long distance but the damned packing and unpacking remains the same and all the other grief like getting phone and DSL transferred.

This will take some of our time so if I'm not here bright and bushy tailed every AM you'll know why. The moving details will cut into our time so blems and deals will be sporadic but I'll try to get up as much as I can and still not find myself stranded along the 50 yard stretch of road between here and there.

I hate moving.

I graduated from the computer shack when we moved into Titanic I and I've got a place for my office staked out in Titanic II.

Clearly we need to help you clear out the big, heavy "blem" box, so you don't have to move it! Yup, that 8 pound, 28" AK looks like a blem to me!

:D :D :D

Nice name "Titanic" that never sinks!
Where I'm living now is also around 600 square feet apartment, that costs around $1100 per month.... Hope I'm working hard enough to earn a better world for our kids' generation.

You and Yangdu take it slow and easy, please don't overdue it.
I've moved a few times myself, always hated it.

I'll bet Yangdu will get impatient to get moved and settled. Women always like their nest, just so so.

Enjoy your new home WHEN you get settled. Always take some time and a few REARRANGEMENTS.
:)

Good luck with the move. I just moved a month or so ago. I like getting someplace new to live, but hate the actual moving.:barf: :barf: :grumpy:

I feel for you, Uncle. I'm in the process of getting ready to move myself. I just bought 10 acres out in the sticks and am putting a double wide on it. I have about 25 miles to move stuff, not that it makes any real difference. Packing is packing.

Hope the Move goes well Uncle Bill. Though are the dust bunnies gonna follow or will you breed all new ones to take care of things:D

to move across the hall from a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment.

I was dragged into calling old high-school friends for a reunion...people I hadn't seen in 25 years. One call was to Joe, who mentioned in the course of the conversation that he and his wife had moved 16 times in twenty-five years!

Since I was in the process of moving to Wisconsin, I asked for any tips. He said, "Eileen and I each take a cardboard box and start in the kitchen. We then to through each room and, as things catch our eye--pictures and things, we put them in the box we carry.

"When the boxes are full, we walk out to the car and put them in.

"Then...

We set fire to the house."

He didn't come to the reunion.

Just a thought, Bill.

Good Luck with the move Uncle Bill.
I wish you and Yangdu a slow and comfortable journey, be it 50 yards or 5,000 miles...it's not the distance that makes for the journey but the coming and going.
Relax and enjoy and, please, both of you take it easy....
Blessings

Hey munk,

See, 5 gallons of gas works wonders in Wisconsin too. HEE!

I haven't started yet and don't know where to start anyway. This old back is not meant for moving and that along with time constraints is making me think the smartest thing I could do is hire some people to do most of the heavy moving.

Hey, Uncle Bill-- If you have a local community college, see if they have a career center with a job board-- young backs usually work cheap.

Good Luck! I've moved twice since school got out in May. Not to fun. Hopefully I won't be moving till I'm out of college.
